Today we’d like to introduce you to Leah Hall.
Hi Leah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started out by creating colorful name tags for small businesses to wear to vending events and networking events. One day A friend of mine asked me to make some earrings for her and that’s what got me into the jewelry business. From there, I began vending at small events and worked my way up to Music festivals. After moving to Atlanta, I started vending at Village Market Atl summer and spring markets. That allowed me to build a relationship with them which is why you can now find HOA Accessory Bar in their store.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
For the most part, it has been a smooth road. There have however, been plenty of times where I’ve wanted to throw in the towel. Move on to some other creative activity that I now find interesting. But I don’t quit. The joy I get when I see a customer picks up my earrings for the first time reminds me of why I’m doing this. For black joy.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Being a creative, I wear many hats. I am a jewelry designer, painter, muralist and interior decorator. I am most proud of my home where you can see my work as an interior decorator. When I’m not making earrings I am hosting Peerspace guests for photo and video shoots. The maximalism style that I execute within my home is what attracts Airbnb guests as well as other creatives for their projects. What sets me apart from others is my love of vintage and color!
What do you like and dislike about the city?
Though I’ve been in Atlanta going on eight years, I still see myself as new in town. What I love about the city is how welcoming people can be. From fellow business people lending a hand, ready to teach and learn. To the art community encouraging timid artists like myself to break out and explore their talents. Though I’ve been here for eight years, I know there is so much to learn about this new city and so much more opportunity for me to grow.
