Check Out Lindsey Raelle’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Raelle.

Hi Lindsey, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve lived in the heart of Atlanta for four, almost five wonderful years now! This city is full of potential for anyone and I was so excited to call it home for my own journey. I am a full-time actress, mostly film & television department, but I did have my years on stage. I also am a full-time YouTube vlogger, my channel is under my name: Lindsey Raelle. I document my daily life through the lens of someone living in Atlanta just trying to live her best life while pursuing acting. I am originally from Tampa, Florida. The sunshine state. That’s where I grew up doing theater as of the age of twelve until I was seventeen years old and began taking on film instead. I put my own self through vigorous workshops and classes, training is very important and I made sure I was trained. by the age of twenty-three, as I was taking college classes for business, It dawned on me that going to school for a backup plan in Tampa will never make me happy, I knew I belonged in Atlanta pursuing film. so thus, I packed my bags in 2017, moved out here, and never looked back, I immediately jumped into classes at the alliance theater in midtown and get scene studios in Buckhead. Auditioned for anything I could get my hands on and booked quite a few independent films! I am very proud of my first lead role in the feature film titled “The E-Listers” now available on Amazon Prime. Most of my creditable roles are on my IMDB page.

To this day, esp. with how the world is, I have faced many challenges along my way, as most do. I moved out here alone, no friends, and started over from scratch. Both thrilling and nerve wrecking. I had to rebuild myself, no money or job. I had hurdle after hurdle thrown my way, oh. and include a pandemic. For some three years of the time being here pursing my dreams of making it big on the silver screen, life has given me rejection after rejection! I have applied for countless agents here. I have a solid resume and am very talented but have been faced with rejection due to “they have my look”. My darn appearance against me. I never let that stop me and I always prevailed working for myself and landing wonderful indie films and even some big films such as “After” and “Dynasty”! I’ve had to do time-consuming gigs like stand ins, photo doubles, and background extra work for many box office films and tv shows just to get my foot in the door. All and all, as of today, December 2021, I am extremely happy with where I am. I did get signed by a wonderful agency, Crossbeam Talent. I feel capable for anything, continuously training, and ready to take on the world. You can almost always find me amongst Atlanta auditioning, on set of a project, vlogging my life that I am so grateful to have, and most of all, exploring Atlanta and meeting new people! To me, it really is the Hollywood of the South!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not a smooth road at all for my journey, for starters, I moved to Atlanta four years ago with no idea what I was doing. No job or plan. No friends or anyone to help me out, and best of all, no true resume under my built. Just me and my dream. Of course, over the course of four years, I’ve gone to three different acting schools, training my craft, and auditioned for over hundreds of films and tv roles. I’ve been blessed to have landed a bunch of projects that have given me friendships, connections, and a resume. BUT, the entire time I was rejected A LOT! being a twenty something brunette Caucasian female meant I was in a huge pool of competition. Every agent I could speak to declined me for “having my look already”. I couldn’t get anyone to give me a chance. I prevailed and kept booking gigs I got my hands on and finally proved to an agent I was hard-working, driven, and bookable, despite them already having six girls who looked like me. I also started a youtube channel that has been a huge pain to grow! The social media app is so saturated that trying to grow the channel is like watching paint dry.

All and all, I still find such passion in creating content that I post vlogs for the love of it more than for views and growth. Now put aside career blocks, my own health has been a roller coaster for three odd years now. I got diagnosed at 24 years old with panic disorder and acute OCD. Both never had ever and these aren’t your typical anxiety attacks either, these are your grade A panic attacks that have actually prevented me on my days of being able to have a normal life. I did find a way to get them managed but I would be lying if I said I have made it a whole day without some sort of adrenaline rush anxiety attack, rejection, closed doors, slow growth, and anxiety is all a part of the game when trying to create a name for yourself in a sea of other artists. It hasn’t been a smooth road, but boy has it been interesting.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Youtube and acting! I write screenplays as well, I’ve written six feature films and one mini-series. I write songs, in the process of adding singer to my belt. My genre is pop. But without a doubt, I m a full-time actress and youtube vlogger(content creator).

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
