Check Out Linz Prag’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Linz Prag.

Hi Linz, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey started back in Charlottesville, Virginia, where my love for music turned into a real passion for sound. I began producing and DJing locally, experimenting with different styles until I found my lane blending EDM, synthwave, hip-hop, and modern production. Over time, I developed my skills not just as a producer but also as a mixing and mastering engineer, I wanted to have full creative control and make every record sound exactly the way I heard it in my head.

As my sound grew and opportunities started to open up, I decided to take a leap and move to Atlanta, Georgia — a city known for its music culture and creative energy. That move really helped me expand my network, sharpen my craft, and work with a wider range of artists. Today, I produce, DJ, and engineer under the name Linz Prag, helping artists bring their vision to life while continuing to evolve and build my own sound.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. In fact, my journey has been full of unexpected turns. I was originally set to move to Los Angeles to attend the Los Angeles Recording School in Hollywood that was supposed to be my big leap. But before I could make the move, I got really sick and had to put everything on hold. That moment was tough. Watching my plans fall apart while everyone else seemed to be moving forward forced me to take a step back and rebuild, piece by piece.

Even after recovering, the grind didn’t let up. Breaking into the music industry as a producer and engineer means you’re constantly having to show and prove yourself not once, but over and over again. Getting placements, landing shows, and earning respect takes relentless work and a thick skin. There were times I felt overlooked or doubted, but I learned to turn that into motivation.

Those challenges built character. They pushed me to master my craft and never lose sight of why I started. Every setback just made me hungrier and that hunger is what continues to drive me today as a producer, DJ, and mixing and mastering engineer.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I wear a few different hats in music, I’m a producer, DJ, and mixing and mastering engineer but at the core, I’m an artist who’s obsessed with sound. I specialize in creating immersive, emotion-driven production that blends elements of synthwave, hip-hop, and modern electronic textures. I’m known for my attention to detail and my ability to bring an artist’s vision to life while still leaving my own fingerprint on the record.
What really sets me apart is that I do everything from the ground up including my own sound design. I build my sounds from scratch so every track has its own identity. On top of that, I’m a left-handed guitarist, which naturally makes me approach music a little differently. My ear gravitates toward unique chord voicing’s and textures that help my records stand out in a crowded space.
I take pride in being self-made every skill I’ve developed came from countless hours of trial, error, and genuine passion. I’m proud of the growth, the resilience, and the sound I’ve built. I’m not chasing trends; I’m building a lane that feels authentic to me.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
One thing I’d definitely like to share is that I’m not just focused on my own music I’m also passionate about building platforms for other producers. Back in 2020, during the pandemic, I co founded The Gauntlet Beat Battle with one of my best friend’s Sandman. What started as a creative outlet to keep producers inspired during lockdown quickly grew into one of the most respected online beat battles. We built a community that pushed each other to evolve, sharpen their craft, and celebrate the art of production.
The Gauntlet opened doors for a lot of up-and-coming talent, and it reminded me why I fell in love with music in the first place the connection, the creativity, and the energy that comes from sharing your sound with others. Beyond that, I’m always working to keep evolving whether that’s experimenting with new genres, doing live shows, or mentoring younger producers who are finding their voice.
