Today we’d like to introduce you to Maria Williams.
Hi Maria, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My whole Art Journey started when I had my son in 2017 and I just decided that I wanted to live my dream into teach my son that he can live his dream too. As long as you have goals you have faith and you have a plan. So I started getting into painting a little more and decided to start doing a little bit of multi-media and other types are but then I started to find the love for modeling, but not just any modeling body paint modeling I mean I’ve been putting shows I’ve been plenty events, and I just enjoy being the only someone else’s canvas, but bring someone else’s are to life the same way that I do with my own paintbrush. Ever since I have been running a paint and sip in Atlanta and I have been modeling all over Atlanta as well and you may see me in a couple of events and art shows in the near future. I will continue to spread my work as well as showcasing others all over the city!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I wouldn’t call them struggles that I’ve been through along the way I would just call them obstacles or barriers that I need to break down because nothing has been really as hard as I thought it has been to get through or to get past. It’s all just the process and you have to have patience. You have to have ambition you have to stay focused in order to reach the goal that you set and commit to yourself, but the most I will say that the Barriers have been has been within myself just building a confidence and not looking at social media and wondering if I should be more ahead than I am because I realize that I have my own journey and my own path so the best thing I can do is follow it and trust the process.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a visual artist, but I double a multimedia. I use the medium acrylic. I’m dabbling into woodburning now and I also paint any type of clothing bags boots any type of fabric of any type, any type of clothing, any type of the object actually. As far as being a canvas for body painting it is just simply put I’m the canvas and they provide the creativity and I just walk the walk in resume the role as whatever they want their art to be seen as. I am most proud of my progression and my confidence.. what sets me apart from everyone is the fact that I am versatile that I am original that I stand out and that I’m fun. And I guess All the tattoos too!
Any big plans?
My plans for the future are to own my own gallery and to be a brand name famous company and model to continue to be a part of events, and also create my own and at the end of the day, be able to build a foundation for my son, in order for him to have, and never need.
