Today we’d like to introduce you to Marquis Desean.
Hi Marquis, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started as a young child growing up that’s when my passion for making music had come about. I was five years old going way way back in my old town where I grew up at called Northbridge, Massachusetts a small little town in the middle of know where. My family history tree is full of music. I remember when I first started hearing all the authentic music by the fighting temptations all the oldies growing up. Having no choice but to listen to them because of my grandmother will play them every day and that’s how it all came about. Later on, in my prime years as a kid, I started to learn every genre there was for music. I wanted to learn everything about music. And big surprise, nobody believed me even me that inspired me more was that my father grew up in Boston ma he grew up with a lot of legends with the group new edition. That there alone! Had pushed the envelope for even more. As time went by throughout elementary and middle school, that’s when I decided to practice every single day with doing music that had to do with it.
Especially with singing was my first love in mind. I was the only kid out of my siblings and cousins that took learning so much about my heritage in music and was dedicated to it by learning so much about it. It’s because I wanted to fit in with everyone so I can stand out. But you see, as I had gotten older over the years after being threw everything I had been threw growing up and all my motivation see I can go threw so much events that had inspired me to push the agenda with my lyrics but also my agenda being a black man is the best. Because iv learned so much over the years on to push myself to be different because nobody is different, I want to inspire everyone to love themselves and not to give up on their dream. Because no matter what we went through threw out our time period. It doesn’t mean you give up on who you want to be. My favorite motto to say to myself is that) so over time, I came up with sports programs cause I wanted to change the world with sports being different shouldn’t stop you from doing what you love to do. Believe it or not, my first big actually break was playing lacrosse which of course, blow everyone’s mind. But the fact, I changed the agenda and played my own way and practiced. Every single day before games and practices seeing that right there alone pushed me even harder because I am a black man and there was a lot of doubt but I kept trying every single day. So over the next few years after high school, it had led me to want to start my own business at 15, coming up with slogans and ideas. Cause I wanted to make something that everyone can relate doesn’t matter what shape or size or age etc. Everyone was a part of my brand by feeling good about yourself, especially me knowing that I can change the world one day at a time.
As my life went on tried to keep up with stop and started, it was a whole big mess from getting it started for everyone doubting me, friends, family, etc. just those type of people who doesn’t believe in our vision don’t want to see us do good. With all of that being said leading into my current life, I am a dad of three amazing little boys and a wonderful woman that came into my life helped motivate me every single day to keep striving with my music career is because I want to continue to show my kids that.no matter we go through and who says anything about your dream do not stop being you’re self and strive for you that’s why I now continue with my dreams as a musician to strive and to motivate, inspire those who deserve it the most because anybody and everyone can do it. So whoever is reading this, don’t give up on you’re dream as long it’s positive and motivational; today now, I am taking full fledge on my music career and also my brand to keep pushing my agenda on taking the world by storm one step at a day getting prepared to change that with a big bang! I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Struggle was rough because there’s the doubters and the ones who don’t want to see you accomplish your goals. So I stopped working on my craft for a bit til I had figured out some of my life situations to better myself as a human being to continue to push forward with my career.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart from others is that I’ve always tried to teach myself self-love more and by building confidence within myself. So the most I am proud about is being different by creating sports programs for kids for middle school and high school by setting myself up for success by helping create lacrosse teams for kids in the city throughout the year then incorporating my music with my past and my current life.

To be honest with you starting out growing as an artist, I’ve always told myself I wouldn’t collab I just want to be heard what God has put in my soul by gifting with my talents so others don’t feel left out, so I create my lyrics to inspire I started off on youtube which I currently have and including Instagram under my artist name or emailing me.
