Check Out Maureen Herrmann’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maureen Herrmann.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My background is concentrated in esthetics. I have 20 + years of esthetic experience including owning/operating esthetic skin clinics to working with large esthetic companies launching new technologies, training and sales.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The process of owning and operating any business can involve a variety of challenges and obstacles, the road is not always smooth. Some of the struggles I have encountered are certainly not uncommon and most likely relatable to anyone who has owned a small business. Being able to adapt to changes and trends quickly is key and something I learned rather quickly. Having the ability to pivot and adjust strategies and the approach is quite important in the medical spa space.

Legal and regulatory issues are something to keep in mind when opening medical spas. Keeping a good pulse on state and local requirements is essential to avoid legal issues and concerns.

Staffing and training is very important to the overall success. Keeping the team in touch with the latest trends, training and education should be a priority.

I believe the struggles mentioned pertain to most if not all businesses and therefore, this is just part of the process to being a successful owner/operator.

Work-Life Balance is important and for many years I struggled to manage this well. I have learned!!!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My background is quite diverse but where I hit my stride and rise above is with my passion and understanding of skin health. Providing services, knowledge and solutions to improve and support skin health to many individuals is what drives me and gives me satisfaction. I did not work this hard to get to where I am to be good, I did it to be excellent. I specialize in teaching about skin health from inside out and outside in. I customize, I study the individual and I work to find balance which supports overall health and wellness of one of your largest organs.

I am proud of the fact that I wake up every day trying to be my best and with a positive attitude. I think there are many great estheticians, business owners and experts but not everyone has the grit to get out there each day and execute.

What is important to me and I think some would say sets me apart is my integrity to provide value in an honest and ethical manner to customers and ensure patient satisfaction is achieved.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Clients want to be able to trust and as an expert within my space, I feel it is important to live up to the expectation of this and deliver on this intimate relationship by building trust. In addition, humility. Be kind and be humble.
