Check Out Maya Collins’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maya Collins.

Hi Maya, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I graduated with a degree in Environmental Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. During college, I had the opportunity to take a few Building Construction courses such as Residential Construction & Property Management and Construction Engineering & Management. After college, I focused on environmental compliance within the automotive industry but pivoted to the construction industry. After a layoff during COVID, I opted to get my Real Estate license and leverage the engineering and project management skills gained to serve the needs of my clients.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it has not been a smooth road. From my perspective, being an engineer is a relatively safe route. Generally speaking, you can always find a job. As such, one of the struggles that I faced starting out was taking the leap of faith into real estate.

Additionally, as a Realtor, you literally eat what you hunt for, and paving your own way is paramount to your success. In switching careers, there is a learning curve, and the quicker you network, learn the processes and lingo, the quicker you eat and can feed your family.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
In short, I leverage my engineering background, market knowledge, innovative marketing skills, and industry relationships to meet the needs of my real estate clientele.

I currently specialize in listing properties on the southwest side of Atlanta i.e., Tyrone/Peachtree City/Fairburn.

I am known for not only being a Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist but also selling the three highest comparable properties to date in the River Crest neighborhood in Tyrone, GA.

I am most proud of getting started in real estate and being nominated as Rookie of the Year for the Atlanta Magazine (fingers crossed).

I’m most proud of getting started and being obedient to God’s calling on my life and ultimately reaping the benefits of doing so.

Ultimately, what sets me apart from others is my persistence and communication skills.

What are your plans for the future?
My short-term goals include reaching $10M in sales and obtaining Guild-level recognition from the Institute of Luxury Home Marketing, and my long-term goals include developing land, building homes, and utilizing my real estate license to sell the properties.
