Check Out Mecca Frost’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mecca Frost.

Hi Mecca, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hey, my name is Mecca Frost. I am a proud HBCU Alum, Albany State University to be exact. Currently a Middle School Physical Education Teacher, High School Girl’s basketball Coach, and Business owner wrapped into one. How did I get to where I am today? Well, after being a collegiate athlete, I turned into somewhat of a health nut. Always looking for the healthiest alternative as far as my diet is concerned and six years ago, I made the decision to go vegan. I saw so many improvements from my energy, skin, and of course, my physical physique. I was so intentional about what I put in my body and not what I put on my body or in my hair. Looking at the back the lotions and moisturizers that I would use on my skin and hair, I couldn’t tell you what half of the chemicals that were in the bottle and all the “natural” or “organic” products that I researched were either not really natural or over-priced. BOOM, there it was what if I could create a moisturizer and hair oil that was truly natural and organic, as well as making it affordable. “Health shouldn’t be a luxury” no matter the form, and that’s often the case especially in the black community. I wanted to create a skin and hair care line that anyone could afford and still be of quality & I am doing just that.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No journey worth taking is without obstacles, so the road hasn’t been smooth. My family has been a SAVING GRACE, from vent sessions, emotional support, financial support, helping me get orders out, to even allowing me to test my products on them months before I put it out. They have been with me on this journey the entire way. In the moments I get overwhelmed as an upcoming entrepreneur, I often fall back on this phrase my Dad would say to us growing up “How do you eat an elephant? Piece by Piece” It means there’s always going to be some type of adversity, but don’t allow it to engulf you. Take it one step at a time.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have a Dual Bachelor’s in Health and Physical Ed. & Health and Human Performance. Currently working as an Educator in Physical Education at the middle school level. I love being around fitness, sports, more specifically basketball. I come from a basketball family, not only did we all play and now do some form of coaching, but excel at it. My Mom (Chantay Frost) holds 4 State Championship titles, I owe my love for coaching and passing down the game to others from her. Between My Dad, Mom, and two sisters we have a total of 10 Championship rings in the household.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
My customers for believing in my business and brand & my family for believing in me and my vision.
