Check Out Mell Ali’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mell Ali.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I had a passion for music ever since I was born. I still dance to certain songs from my parent’s era and this one too. But it all came ahead with I won my first talent show at the age of five. I used to sing and rap at lunch in middle and high school. So when someone gifted me a USB microphone when I was 14, I put it to use. Recorded my first song and since then, everything fell into place for me musically.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was smooth at first, but things happened to me that made me feel like I was about to give up on my dreams. First, my granny passed away in 2016, who was the first person who pushed me in my journey. Then losing my uncle days after my birthday in 2017 really put a dent in my music creation process. But the biggest factor was losing my father a month before his birthday. That was really hard for me cause me and my pops did everything together. My pops was a gifted singer and dabbled in music production in his later years of life. I showed my father how to make beats of his own so he can do what I was doing at that time period.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a musician. I get all my music content from the things that have happened in my life and the things I’ve seen over the years. What I’m proud of mostly is having people to share my passion with and helping my peers with their music as well.
