Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Roberson.
Hi Michael, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I come from the construction industry as a project manager for civil site development. I got burned out and I changed jobs and went to academia. My job was made obsolete in academia.
I had gone down to Jekyll Island and attended a Shrimp and Grits Festival where I purchased a sauce distributorship and was successful in getting the products in Whole Foods Market.
The folks whom I purchased the distributorship, from were having problems with their manufacturing process; and we had to remove all of the product from the shelves. I literally begged my buyer for two weeks to do my own signature sources. That request was granted and 21 skus later and 196 stores later here we are..
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As a startup adequate As always an obstacle. I tried to find in a way of ways to enhance cash flow. I wrote a cookbook and the advertising that went into the cookbook actually took care of acquiring inventory. in order to succeed, you really have to think outside of the box. I’d have to say their cats flow is a primary obstacle to run in a small business.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We started out essentially as a marketing firm to market family recipes. Since saying we have landed in the NIL space that is name image and likeness. We develop sauces and other food products for collegiate and professional athletes. We have morphed into a creative company. We take products from concept to the grocer shelves under our. Recipes to Riches Master Class (recipestoriches.com).
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory was going fishing with my father on Saturday morning. My dad made the best sandwiches maybe you make them with love. I think I’d liked going out and have an excuse to eat his sandwiches rather than the fishing trip itself. Those were good times indeed and are indelibly in my memory.
