Today we’d like to introduce you to Mike Alvarez
Hi Mike , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Sure.
It was October 2023 when I received a call from Dr. Kesha Gibson. She’s the Director of Administrative Services for the School of The Great Commission Bible College and Seminary ( SOGC). She further stated that I had been nominated to receive an Honorary Doctorate in Christian Humanities from the College.
It was at that moment that I was completely blown away. It was a call I never imagined receiving. The graduation was held the next month and I’m still in awe. A couple of months later, I was chatting with Dr. Gibson and inquired more about the school and the other Satellite schools across the region. It didn’t take long before I was positioned to assist in launching a Satellite Virtual campus in Snellville, GA where I now serve as Campus Dean. I’m extremely humbled for this opportunity.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a fairly new journey. So, I can’t address any real issues outside of the learning curve. It’s truly worth the ride!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a Retired Federal Public Health Analyst. But I have always worked in some capacity doing things that I’m passionate about.
I’m most known for hosting Women’s empowerment events through my organization called KellyKares. I’ve been doing events for well over 25 years. I’m very proud of the work I’ve done throughout the community. Uplifting and pouring positivity into others is priceless.
What matters most to you?
The one thing that matters most to me is being able to leave an impact for anyone who has been in my presence.
If a person who has an encounter with me leave my presence without being inspired or motivated, then I’m certainly NOT doing my job. I believe that we all have purpose and a calling.
I’m so proud to represent the MANIFEST! School of The Great Commission Bible College and Seminary of Snellville. It truly lines up with my purpose. My calling.
