Check Out Moni Patel’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Moni Patel.

Hi Moni, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
After three failed attempts to keep bands, I was a part of alive and healthy, I took it to myself to get stuff done. Covid was a prime factor to why the third project I was in as a vocalist failed. Moving forward, it was never easy working with some of these projects due to toxicity. I formed In Somni (NU-Metalcore) about a year n half ago with full plans to get stuff done and be a healthy team.

We played our first show last July 2022 after our first release. Almost a year has gone by and we have managed to play all stages at the masquerade. We took on a packed room in Heaven as our third show ever and was received with a ton of love. We have members from South Carolina, Tennessee and Atlanta! We have our album coming out May 18 and it’s called “lifeless carnation”. Something we have worked very hard on. We just dropped our 4th single with a lot of stacked shows aligned. In the midst of managing in Somni, I opened a CBD shop in Alpharetta and a dog spa that’s opening in the following months. I happily dropped out of college to pursue business and keep strong motives to what I want to achieve (even if there’s ten different things needing to get done…it gets done). Seeing these businesses grow over the year and truly shaped me as a businessman with high goals. A lot of people in the metal scene might see me at shows, always having fun.🥂. I have a huge passion for all metal and my main purpose is to always network and market what I got going on with everyone I meet. It’s a constant grind that I’ll never give up on.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Biggest struggle was working with toxic bandmates that controlled and sucked all the creativity out of you being narcissistic. It’s a business that has roles for everyone involved. Having all the pieces align has been one of In Somni’s biggest strengths. Our team loves each other and we communicate very well with no controlling factor. We trust each other’s capabilities.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Outside of my CBD shop, I do a lot for my band In Somni. I’ve funded the majority of everything and put the team together. The biggest thing I specialize in is how I network. I’m very easy to talk to with great hints of wisdom and ideas. Growing up in atl my whole life, I’ve realized there is an insane amount of creative individuals that can help with any project/business and making it look and be legit. I’m very proud of opening for a band called BLOODYWOOD. My dad is from India and my mom is from London. So my background is pretty neat, lol.

Bloodywood is the biggest metal band from India and they did there first us tour and invited my band to open for them. This show gets me naturally high just thinking about the night. It was our third show ever and it was in front of a packed house at Masquerade Heaven! We received and insane amount of love and feedback. What sets me apart is that I have the willpower and drive to never give up.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
When I pitched a no hitter during a championship game. My dad treated the team to hooters afterwards.
