Check Out Natasha Myrick’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natasha Myrick.

Hi Natasha, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Creativity is at my core. I have always had big dreams of being in the entertainment industry. Ever since I was young, I was involved in music and theater. My dreams and aspirations started when I was very young. While some of those dreams have evolved in my adult life, they hold the same theme. About four years ago, I went through a program called AMTC (Actors, Models, and Talent for Christ). I had to audition to be a part of this program. My goal was to audition as a vocalist and to be discovered and signed to a record label. God had different plans for me at the time. I was instead scouted as a fashion model. This has lead me down paths I never imagined I would be on, and it has been such an exciting adventure! Modeling is a skill that has been fun and challenging to learn. I have walked the runway for various designers, worked with clothing brands, modeled for many different photographers, etc. I continue to hone my skills in voice, acting, and modeling. In this industry, pursuit never truly ends. It’s always changing and always evolving.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being a part of the entertainment industry is not a smooth road at all! It is extremely challenging. On the outside, people really only see the glamorous side of it; they only see the results. One of the biggest challenges is the constant rejection. There is so much time, energy, and resources put into pursuing anything in this industry. Many times, none of that effort and talent is even seen or recognized. That can get discouraging sometimes. In order to be successful, you have to be able to believe in yourself and your talents, even when others don’t.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I wear many different hats. I am pursuing modeling, acting/voice acting, and music. I am constantly networking, auditioning, and looking for opportunities. When you are still making a name for yourself in the industry, you have to find some other forms of income. Something I love to do part-time is teaching. I have been teaching middle school and high school choir for about seven years. Whether I’m creating modeling content or teaching in the classroom, my ultimate goal is to inspire and spark confidence in others. I am passionate about seeing other creatives thrive. I am a curve model helping others realize their self-worth. I want to spread positivity and the message that you are enough!

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
It is never too late to pursue and follow your dreams. However, don’t be afraid to start today! Especially if it’s in modeling, acting, music — it can take some people years to really feel like they are making progress. But that’s just the name of the game. There is a lot of waiting and rejection. But don’t give up. Your dreams are worth fighting for. Wouldn’t you rather see what happens if you don’t give up? That is sometimes a question that keeps me following my dreams.
