Check Out Nicholas Lin’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicholas Lin.

Nicholas Lin

Hi Nicholas, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Growing up, our house was always filled with the latest fashion magazines. I would spend entire afternoons and evenings engrossed in reading them. My mom, Tina, is also a fashionista herself, the reason I walk how I walk, I talk how I talk is all because of her! So shout out to her! (Love ya, Mom) And it was at that time I really started developing a sense of fashion and thinking about what makes a great photo and how models should pose.

Fast forward, I am 19 years young, came to the United States by myself from Taiwan. I was majoring in Electrical Engineering and inspired by my growing passion, wanted to do something other than just science, so I started to model for the local student-formed magazine. DamChic

While during my modeling career, I was thinking about how I can elevate my posing to a new level so I started to study photography in order to understand how to pose from the best angle. Not too long later, I fall in love with photography and added a minor in Photography

Fast forward five years, and I took a leap of faith by creating my own brand and studio called Stark View, with a focus on capturing stunning portraits. At Stark View, we’re all about showcasing the beauty and uniqueness of individuals through our photography. It’s been an exciting journey turning my passion into a profession, and I’m thrilled to continue capturing incredible moments and creating memorable portraits.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Looking back from where I stand today, I won’t say it has been the smoothest journey, but it definitely had its ups and downs! The ups include the achievements I’ve accomplished and the friends and acquaintances I’ve made along the way. On the other hand, the downs encompass moments of burnout, times when I disliked my own photos and instances where I struggled to see growth in my own brand. Nevertheless, I genuinely enjoy and trust the process of it all.

Not only do I engage in creating art on a daily basis, but I also have a deep passion for entrepreneurship. Every morning, I wake up with a sense of gratitude for having established my own studio, Stark View. Witnessing its growth from the ground up has been immensely fulfilling. Starting Stark View was undoubtedly the best decision I’ve made in my life, and I am also appreciative of the support and assistance from my friends and family who have helped me reach the level I’m at today. This is just the beginning, and I eagerly look forward to what the future holds for me. It may sound cliché, but truly, the sky is the limit.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am Nick Lin, owner of Stark View Studio, also a photographer from Taiwan. During the pandemic in August 2020, while pursuing my Bachelor’s degree, I established my own media studio called Stark View Studio. Our range of services includes event photography, lifestyle shoots, portraits, wedding photography, and business commercials. We have had the pleasure of working with clients such as the university, student organizations, and local businesses.

At Stark View Studio, we take pride in our confident and stylish approach. We understand that being in front of a camera can sometimes feel awkward and challenging, but I possess the ability to make people feel comfortable and at ease. Moreover, our team has an impeccable fashion sense that sets us apart from others in the industry.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Don’t worry about being judged by others! Art is highly subjective, and everyone has their own unique perspective and preferences. What may resonate with one person may not resonate with another, and that’s perfectly okay. Embrace your artistic expression and trust in your own creative vision. Remember, art is a form of self-expression, and it’s important to stay true to yourself and your artistic journey. Keep creating and let your unique voice shine through your work.
