Check Out Niki Pitts’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Niki Pitts.

Hi Niki, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’m Niki Pitts. I wear a few hats but they all sit under one mission—helping people design a better future through real estate.

My journey started in a totally different creative lane—as a cake artist. I owned a business called Eat My Art Creative Cakes, specializing in sculptural, over-the-top designs that were more art than dessert. (Fun fact: my son named the business when he was six.) I loved bringing people’s visions to life with color, structure, and a little bit of edible drama.

But in the background, life was teaching me some harder lessons. During the 2008 housing crash, I lost my home to foreclosure. It was devastating—and humbling. That moment stuck with me. Now that I’m back on somewhat solid ground, I try to help others avoid what I went through.

I continued with Eat My Art Cake Creations for many years. Ultimately I was introduced to real estate, and the doors it could open (pun fully intened). I got licensed, and I quickly realized I could bring all of my creative energy, empathy, and strategic thinking into this world—and actually help people win.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not even close. As a woman who’s naturally introverted, stepping into such a people-facing business took some growing pains. In fact. I’m still learning to work through challenging social situation. I’ve learned to find my voice—one that didn’t try to be the loudest, just the most real. I realized early on that people don’t need or want another pushy agent. I think they are in fact, repulsed by it. They need someone who listens, simplifies the process, and shows up with solutions. This is where I thrive. I genuinely want the best for the people I help. So carrying the stress of making sure everything is done perfectly is definitely something i struggle with. The road has been bumpy. But i always invite a challenge to learn something new and fine tune my craft.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
What I’m known for most is connecting with people from a genuine place. At the end of the day, I’m not trying to just be your agent who collects a check. I hope to be the right one for people who value a professional that’s honest, trustworthy and personable. Currently, I’m focusing on guiding young millennials and genz, who are looking for more modern, educated approach to home ownership. The fact that my son is now 23 and engaged is what sparked this interest. I;’m currently building a content platform called In My Homeowner Era which breaks down real estate concepts in a fun, digestible way for Gen Z and Millennials.

As a designer in my and husbands fix and flip business, we buy forgotten houses and transform them into homes that shine with a make over. I manage the vision. My husband manages the construction.

I think what i’m known best for is simply how I show up for others. I’m not flashy or loud and I’m not here to “sell” people. I’m here to serve with a genuine respect for where people are coming from and what their goals are.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I’m not typically the “jump and figure it out on the way down” type. Risk taker? Perhaps. But i prefer to think of myself as more measured, strategic, thoughtful and always aware of what’s at stake. And in this business, what’s at stake is usually other peoples livelihood.
Throughout my life, I’ve absolutely had moments where I had to move forward before I felt 100% ready.
I’ve had times when I had no choice but to hold my breath and jump. Walking away from my cake business and going all in to real estate, was one of those moments. Shifting into fix and flips has been the most recent jump right in or we’ll never do it. Sometimes in life, “the right time” we’re waiting for is right now.
I’m find being a risk taker. Just not reckless. Trusting my gut and weighing pros and cons is the balance that works for me
