Check Out Niracle Lundie’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Niracle Lundie.

Hi Niracle, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Owner of Tastries by Niracle. We originated in Lawrenceville, GA around January 2017. Since high school, I’ve always had a creative niche, and one day in October 2016, I woke up and decided to bake and decorate some Halloween-themed cupcakes. I posted them on my personal Instagram and received a lot of positive feedback from my peers. Thanksgiving 2016, I decided to bake a few holiday cakes to sale and sold out!! After this, I was determined to make this an ongoing thing. My boyfriend came up with business name “Tastries”, a fusion of tasty and pastries, and the rest is history! I’ve been self-taught since day one and every day, I learn something new. I’ve served a little over three hundred clients since establishing. One of the highlights of my career would be doing a cake for recording artist Gunna two years in a row.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Oh my gosh. Where can I start? The road NEVER gave smooth lol! When I first started running my business, I knew the bare minimum about running a business. I wasn’t requiring deposits. I didn’t have a way to keep my business organized. I was charging $50-$70 for custom cakes. A mess. Getting my business organized was a MUST, and that’s exactly what I did. I signed up for every possible method of payment, built a website for my clients to order, and of course, started requiring deposits. Another obstacle I’ve run into is saying “YES” when I should’ve said NO! Last year I had the worst thing happen to me. A regular client of mine wanted a cake in less than 24 hours notice (she texted me at 7pm and needed it the next day by noon). I said yes and did the cake. My client hated it, and I can honestly say it was not my best work because of the time frame allotted. So I immediately refunded her money and took the cake back. Even after providing good customer service and offering to fix it she still posted it on Instagram to her very large audience. I. WAS. PETRIFIED! I had never dealt with something like this before. You know they say all publicity is good publicity…I gained followers and clients! But it still felt like my heart had gotten ripped out of my chest because my business is my baby! I have grown and learned from my mistakes, and I’m a better business owner now.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in custom cakes for all occasions. Yes, all occasions! Having a baby? Getting a divorce? We’ve got a cake for that! I’m very well known in the Gwinnett area because I’ve lived in Lawrenceville my whole life. I’m most proud of my business. Period! I just welcomed a new daughter into the world in April of this year, so lately I’ve had time to sit back and realize how far my business has come. With little social interactions and networking, I have been able to maintain my business through the pandemic. I quit my job in November 2018, and I haven’t worked a “job” since then. I’m able to take care of my two beautiful daughters with running this business! My uniqueness and work ethic set me apart from others. Tell me your vision and I’m going to make it into cake. No matter what it is.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was always unique. Whether it was something new, I was doing with my hair or the full windbreaker suits I rocked in high school. I always wanted to stand out and be different. In 2014 I left Grayson high school and went back to my home school, Central Gwinnett High School. It felt so good to be back in my element with people who I grew up with. When the time for senior superlatives came around I was nominated for “Most Unique” and I won! I was so happy. Even after being away for four years, I still had an impact on my fellow classmates.
