Check Out Olga Petrovic’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Olga Petrovic.

Olga, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Originally from Serbia, I started acting as a kid in elementary through high school. Coming to States 16 years ago led me into a huge cultural shock which together with a language barrier, heavy accent and the unpleasant event of being discriminated against because of the way I talk, made me take a 10-year break. After moving to Florida in 2017, I realized how much I was missing acting, so I walked into the closest theater to see if they have any auditions coming up. They welcomed me with an open arms and encouraged me to come back for the upcoming audition. Ever since that audition, things started linearly progressing for me in this business which led to a decision to shift from theater to a film industry and immerse myself in it full time since the begining of this (2023) year.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Ohhh where do I begin on this one?! 🙂

Colleagues from the industry who are fully immersed in it can probably tell you the same thing: It’s a bloody & sweet hustle at the same time! You really gotta love it so much in order to do what it takes to make it and for the RIGHT reasons, and for me that means creating and bringing value to this world and not for the reason of wanting to be a TV celebrity! Many people mix those up.

Unless you are among the 1% of actors who work 24/7, you will have obstacles and challenges as a part of your daily life and that is: “how do I book the next gig in order to pay bills.” Again, you really have to endlessly love acting as a profession and do whatever it takes to get there if you are serious about it. What I mean by that is to: be available 24/7 for gigs, to endlessly audition, work on your craft by taking classes, reading books, listening to podcasts, attending networking events with casting directors and other colleagues, training your mind, body and soul while staying sane during this process 🙂

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As a Serbian American actress, Slavic accent (that people most commonly interpret as Russian) and extensive martial arts background sets me apart from others, so I mostly get cast as a CIA agent, assassin, mafia boss, detective, drug dealer, police officer, villan, vampire, werewolf, or any type of dominant woman in charge.. haha.

Also, I am perceived as a stunt woman a lot, but I do not like to represent myself as one out of respect towards my stunt colleagues in the industry who are way more multifaceted than I am. However, I am currently working on expanding the stunt world component as soon as I fully recover from a broken finger injury and surgery.

I cannot say much about the current projects I am working on (due to signed NDAs), but the one that is already advertised is the real jewel that will be a big hit I believe. It is a GRAPHIC NOVEL, THE TOWERS, story about a Special Operations Soldier who plays SOLDIER MAN, A Major Superhero On The Big Screen, and who is on the run from “TOWERS STUDIOS” A Corrupt Atlanta Movie Studio, and must use his special set of skills to survive the tactics of the studios’ various agents and it’s Deadliest Assassins while trying to reclaim his life. Excited to play Scarlet, Hunter of Assassins, as well as to get on the business side of raising funds for the portion of the project.
