Check out Omari Hughes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Omari Hughes.

Omari, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
When I was in high school, I always thought I wanted to be an architect when I got older and I was fully committed until my 11th grade year of high school. I took a class in high school that was an introduction to architectural design and I completely bored out of my mind! I knew this wasn’t what I truly wanted to do so at that point I wasn’t sure on exactly what I wanted to do. Until I came across a motivational speaker by the name of Eric Thomas, and he mentioned doing what you love and not just choosing a career based on the amount of money I can make. So I truly thought about what I love doing no matter what, and what came to mind was how fitness got me out of a very low point of my life that same year and right then and there I knew I wanted to be in the fitness industry.

Once I got accepted into Clayton State University in 2013, I was committed to becoming a certified trainer so that I could start my journey and I actually stopped running track and field for my college my second year because I knew what I truly wanted to focus on. So at the end of my sophomore year of college, I received my personal training certification. From that moment it was sky’s the limit and I felt like I finally made it. At least that’s what I thought. I was told no many times by big box gyms and the clientele didn’t come in like I thought it would but I kept pushing through. I did countless amounts of free boot camps, trained “celebrities” for free to help get my foot in the door, went to many different networking opportunities, was consistently posting on social media dealing with my business, was telling everybody in the world about my business but it still wasn’t working. At least in the moment it seemed like it wasn’t working, I’m sure all of those times helped build up my brand! That’s when I sat back and saw that I needed to focus more on the client’s results and not worry so much about the business. Once I figured out what it took for me to get results for my clients, everything came along.

I went full time with personal training January 2018 after I graduated with my Health and Fitness Management Bachelors Degree Fall of 2017. My first two quarters of the year was very successful. My business thrived more than what I could even imagine at the time. But the summer of 2018 I was getting an empty feeling or maybe a feeling of being complacent. I love challenges and I felt lack of challenge in my life. So at that point, I knew it was time to make the big move I always dreamed of and that was to open up my own fitness studio, and I accomplished that goal and had my first opening for the gym, MultiFitness, November of 2018.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I am a personal trainer but is transitioning to making sure MultiFitness is known for group sessions. I got into this field because fitness saved my life! It helped build my confidence and gave me self satisfaction, so I want to share this experience with everyone else that may have trouble doing the most important action that must be taken for our health and that is exercise. MultiFitness has a signature class called the “MultiXperience”. The MultiXperience is the ultimate workout experience that will challenge every major muscle in your body, build up cardiovascular strength and challenge you mentally!

What do you think it takes to be successful as an artist?
I feel like as an entrepreneur or creator, it’s hard to put a definition on success. For me I feel successful when I set a goal, fail, try again, fail, try again and repeat those two steps until I achieve or even surpass the initial goal. A few characteristics that I feel is a must is PASSION and GRIT. Those two characteristics will get any artist, entrepreneur or creator through those moments when we don’t feel like doing something or have failed attempts.Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up?

Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
They can visit MultiFitness at 819 Forest Parkway, Forest Park, Ga, 30297, Suite A and view all of my results on my Instagram page @multiFitness15.
