Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Reid.
Hi Paige, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I have worked in the disability community for over ten years. This includes managing therapeutic riding centers, in-home caregiving, and special needs day programs. She has a passion for teaching the community about individuals with disabilities and wants to help make the world limitless and saw the need for more day programs in many communities. Once Limitless started to be developed, there was a need in the church community as well. Most churches are empty a number of days during the week but have the ability to rent to a nonprofit with similar missions, to make a difference. Jubilee was the first Church that came to mind because of its location, its values, and its welcoming congregation. With the added stress of COVID-19, this setup just makes sense. It will allow for smaller group sizes and we will eventually expand to other small churches that will welcome our community with open arms.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. Starting a company during a pandemic was a task in and of itself. Let alone finding funding, partnerships, and clientele. One of the biggest hurdles was the capital upfront. We didn’t have any until the Jubilee Church took up an offering for us and raised over $20,000. This helped make us successful from the beginning. Another struggle was finding new clients. Thankfully some of the clients that knew me and my team knew us and what we represent. Their word of mouth launched us forward and today we serve 16 families.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I started Limitless Disability Services, Inc. Right now that is a day program that serves special needs families in Cherokee and Cobb County. I left the name opened ended with the word “services” on purpose. I have a goal and a mission to open the services needed by our community. This could look like a number of things; transportation, residential, supported employment, and more.
I believe I am known for being a sincere person, an open book, and willing to help in any way that I can. I am most proud of how far I have come. This hasn’t been an easy road and many times when you start a business you feel alone. But I took the leap, stood for what I believe in, and am succeeding. I believe my commitment to the community sets me apart. I don’t just make connections for the connection. I want to know the whole person and what to invest in that individual.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Stay true to yourself and your beliefs. This time has been scary with a lot of unknowns. One thing was for certain, you must keep moving forward and you can’t put yourself in the position to have regrets. Even though it may not have been the most opportune time to start a business, I’m glad I did it and don’t think we would have been as successful without it.
