Check Out Paulette Robinson’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paulette Robinson.

Paulette, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started my candle business because I love candles and the candles I was buying even though I tried to be careful what kind of candles I purchased it was still a hit or miss with the safety of the chemicals in the candles I was purchasing. So I decided to make my own this way I can be absolutely sure of what was in them. I then would give the candles I make to family and friends for special occasions and they would call me and ask if I could and sell to their coworkers or their friends who had smelled the candles and wanted them. I was asked the question so many times that my trainer’s wife a very good friend of mine said to me you know you need to turn this into a business. She shared with me that everyone that smelled my candles that I had given to her and her husband has been inquiring how they can purchase one. At that point, I decided to follow her advice and start the candle company.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been smooth for the most part I had to learn how to make candles so I took a class on a Sunday afternoon with a glass of wine and trial and error as far as the formulas.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I and a professional nurse and I am very into a healthy lifestyle not just for me but also for my community.

What does success mean to you?
Doing something you truly are passionate about and that you are happy and content while doing it, and when that something can also provide you with the funds to take care of your family.
