Check Out Pyper’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pyper.

Hi Pyper, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
This journey of pypercollection evolving has been eventful and started in 2018 it’s been a four years of growth, inspiration and passion. I always loved fashion and beauty and the industry. I grew up in the beauty industry my mom is a hair stylist she’s been one for 35 years so literally my whole life I’ve been around it. I went to the University of Alabama, and I studied Fashion Retailing and Design there, they helped cultivate and mold me into an industry leader. I worked at Saks fifth for a year and learned the business and the industry. In 2015, I started selling clothes on postmark and that became a hit. During that time my roommate who happened to be my bestfriend majored in PR she helped me market my brand and gave me ways to engage and push out content when I began selling clothes. Her name started with a P it’s Paige so we named that store psquared.

The idea of monetizing clothes began to form and be cultivated in 2015 by the time I graduated in 2017 I was going to name the brand “pyper”. My mom suggested pypercollection and it stuck. My sister helped me on the business side with my brand so I always wanted to pay homage to her so the initials are PC and her name is Chyna. We dropped on June 10th, 2018 and we will be 5 years in June. We started as a fast fashion destination and slowly transitioned to a custom couture and RTW brand. On June 10th, 2021 pypercollection was featured in MCFW fashion show and this opened the door and began the smooth transition to Custom Couture and RTW pieces. Alexustherapper being my biggest muse currently, has opened doors for me in the music industry and also gave me another avenue to showcase my brand.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Yes, I got pregnant three months after my 2018 opening and tried hard to keep up with the business during those nine months but I couldn’t. So I fell off with the business literally 6 months after we opened. I had to regain all my supporter’s trust and build new clientele when I came back. My baby was 1 1/2 when I started back working.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Custom Couture, 1/1 pieces, Unique items and things you wouldn’t see in the mall. I love originality and I love seeing my client in something they will only have 1 of. Sustainable pieces and things you will not get rid of. Staple items.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I don’t watch tv, and rarely watch shows. I only listen to music to decompress or in my spare time.
