Check Out Rebel Phoenix’s Story

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Rebel Phoenix.

Rebel Phoenix

Hi Rebel, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I set out on a journey of healing a little over 5 years ago, I began by posting videos on Facebook about NPD Victim & SA recovery. As my videos became more popular, I was invited to come to a test shoot for a studio in Atlanta. I saw myself in a new light. For the first time in my life, I had a support system. For the first time in my life, I had confidence!!!

I began studying every resource I had to understand what I needed to do next!! I started an IG and FB strictly for my professional modeling page, and I began going to open castings!!! My mission has been to continue to share the support and confidence I found after a lifetime of fear, guilt, and shame.

I want to encourage others to throw off the labels of past mistakes! We aren’t designed to repeat old cycles. We are more than what we have done or been through!!! We can get up, dust ourselves off and keep pushing forward, to keep chasing our dreams!!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, I wouldn’t say it was a smooth road. The biggest struggle is within! Accepting criticism and rejection can be a confidence killer. The most important thing to remember is that none of it is personal.

I have also dealt with naysayers. Some have tried spreading rumors, others have posted hateful comments on social media. I have learned to accept that I have no control over what others may think or say about me. However, I do have control over how I respond, how I carry myself, and how I treat those around me. I don’t answer every name I am called.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am gearing my life toward modeling, acting, and the entertainment industry. I look forward to print and runway work, but I want to expand as I grow. I have already appeared in a television show. I have also done background work on a handful of projects.

I have multiple publications and you can catch me in a couple of music videos!!!

My next big project will be the first weekend of May when I head to Miami for MIASFW, produced by Billion Dollar Minds Entertainment in partnership with Megan Marie Modeling and the renowned LA Fashion Coordinator Parris Harris in connection with CIE Fashion Magazine.

I am following my heart, chasing my dreams, and finding my purpose. I am Rebel Phoenix!!

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I do have a list of amazing and talented people I would like to acknowledge. First, my soon-to-be husband, Drew, for believing in me until I believed in myself.

I want to thank Zaharraa Geyhanna, a beautiful model inside and out and a wonderful mentor!! I want to thank DeAndre Jenkins, R&B artist and CEO of Billion Dollar Minds Ent., for having the heart of a lion and such dedication and believing in me!! I have to shout out to my girl, Shelay Virgo of Issa Vibe, for always having a hug and a prayer for me and supporting me every step!! Atlanta Designers, Chet Lacro, Belle Things, and TRVPRV for rocking with me the long way!!!

Photographers: JustAGuy, Flashinthepanphotography, Amorous Photography, and many more!!! I have met so many loving and kind people along my journey, and I love them all!!
