Today we’d like to introduce you to Rick Broomfield

Hi Rick, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m from NYC and have been in the Music Business for 24 years now!
I started with Jeff Robinson and MBK Entertainment / J Records; with the Artist, Alicia Keys; serving in a Promo / A&at role.
I am Co Founder of Da Union DJ Collective.
In August 2005, i left MBK Entertainment for Island Def Jam Music Group where do was the National Club Promo Director and Director of Lifestyle under Shawn Costner.
In 2008 while working at IDJ, I started managing recording artist, Ron Browz;
And we had the #1 Single, “Pop Champagne”, amongst several other Singles. I was able to secure him a deal at Universal Motown under Sylvia Rhone.
In 2009 I branched out into business for myself, with CD Entertainment and under that I was managing recording artist:
Dyme a Duzin
Swift
&
Q Moneyyyy.

I am currently The Music Operations Manager and Studio Manager at R3 Studios under LYI Agency and I am the Co Host of The Gaud Show Podcast with Ray Daniels.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has definitely NOT been smooth.
There are always Challenges and obstacles along the journey.
It’s very easy to quit and walk away.
Most of the struggles that bother me are the ones that can’t be controlled.
Great help is very hard to find and in dealing with artist, we have to remember that they are people with feeling and emotions and that can go in various directions

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am know as “The Negotiator” and I specialize in versatility.
I am deep in Marketing / Promotion, A&R, Lifestyle Marketing, Artist Management, Road and Tour Management.
I am most proud of securing a Number 1 record for several weeks and the still be here and active after 24 years

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
It’s Not going to Be Easy!
Develop and plan / strategy
Keep Going and Never Give up; no matter what!!!!!!
Stay Focused on the Goal!!
