Today we’d like to introduce you to Robert Anthony.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My story really started long before I ever stepped on a stage – it begins with my mother. She was one of the best singers I’ve ever known, and she taught me how to sing not just with technique, but with heart. Music was our language. She sang with me, to me, and over me, and that planted something in me that never went away.
As I grew up, life tested me early. I went through things that could have broken me, and for a long time I didn’t have the support most people expect to lean on. But in the middle of those storms, I found my voice – literally and spiritually. I learned to depend on myself, strengthen myself, and love myself through it all. That resilience shaped the artist I am today.
I officially started pursuing music in a more serious way later in life, after working for years, raising a family, and learning what truly matters. I realized that music has always been my calling, my therapy, and my purpose. So I made a decision: to bet on myself. I started writing, recording, performing, and building my brand as an independent artist under my own label, LeeVic Records.
Since then, my journey has been a blend of passion, faith, and consistency. I’ve created original music, formed The Live Experience Band, and performed at venues across Georgia and beyond. I’ve Executive Produced my own projects, collaborated with talented musicians and producers, and continued to push myself creatively – with everything from R&B, love songs, and inspirational pieces like “Sadie” a tribute song to my beautiful grandmother and my sophomore album, Love Letter.
But more than anything, what got me to where I am today is authenticity. I don’t try to be anybody else. I sing from real places – joy, pain, healing, and love. My story isn’t perfect, but it’s mine. And every song, every performance, every project is another step toward becoming the artist I was always meant to be.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely not – my journey has been anything but smooth. But every bump, setback, and lesson has shaped who I am today, both as a man and as an artist.
I faced major trauma at 15 that could have derailed my entire life. I didn’t always have the support system people assume you need when you’re chasing your dream. Family challenges, emotional battles, and moments of feeling completely alone were real parts of my story. I had to grow up fast, and I had to learn how to strengthen myself from the inside out.
Losing my mother – one of my biggest inspirations – was another turning point. She passed on my 30th birthday, and navigating grief while still trying to hold on to the things she taught me was one of the hardest journeys of my life. But even in that pain, she left me with a purpose and a voice that kept pushing me forward.
As an independent artist, the struggles continued: funding my own projects, building a team, balancing work and family, and constantly proving myself in spaces where people didn’t always see the vision right away. There were times when rehearsals didn’t go right, opportunities fell through, or I questioned whether the sacrifices were worth it.
But every challenge forced me to grow. It taught me discipline, resilience, and how to create my own lanes instead of waiting for someone to open a door. Today, those struggles are the reason I can write from real places, pour authenticity into my music, and connect with people who have lived through their own storms.
So no – the road hasn’t been smooth. But I wouldn’t change any part of it, because the obstacles didn’t stop me. They built me.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a singer, songwriter, and performer, but at the heart of it all – I’m a storyteller. I create R&B ad soul music that speaks to love, healing, and real-life experiences. I write my own songs, executive produce my projects, and perform with my band, Robert Anthony and The Live Experience Band, delivering shows that are high-energy, heartfelt, and intentional from star to finish.
I specialize in creating music that feels authentic. Whether it’s a smooth ballad, a celebration track, or a deeply personal song, I want people to hear honesty, vulnerability, and emotion. I’m known for my vocal tone, my ability to connect with audiences, and the way I fuse classic R&B influences with modern storytelling. I take pride in giving people not just a performance, but an experience – complete with well-crafted transitions, arrangements, and moments that draw people in.
One of the things I’m most proud of is doing all of this as an independent artist under my own label, LeeVic Records. I write, I arrange, I executive produce, and I create opportunities for myself rather than waiting for them. I’m also proud of the projects that are deeply personal to me, like Sunshine (Wynter’s Song) dedicated to my granddaughter, Sadie which is dedicated to my grandmother and my current CD, Love Letter, which showcases my growth both musically & emotionally.
What sets me apart is the why behind my work. My music comes from lived experiences – loss, love resilience, and transformation. I don’t chase trends; I create from real places. And I bring all of that into every stage I step on. My crowd can feel that it’s genuine, and that connection is something you can’t fake.
Another thing that makes me different is the range of what I do. I can deliver a soulful ballad, a high-energy dance track, a tribute performance, or a full concert with dynamic intros, transitions, and storytelling woven throughout. My shows are detailed, intentional, and crafted to make people feel something from the first note to the last.
At the end of the day, I’m proud that I’ve stayed true to myself. I’m proud that I’ve built my career with integrity. And I’m proud that every song I release and every stage I touch represents the man – and the artist – I’ve become.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memories always involve music and my mother. She had this incredible ability to make even the simplest moments feel special. One memory that stands out the most is us singing together around the house. She would harmonize with me, teach me runs, and show me how to feel the music, not just sing it.
There were times she’d be cooking, and I’d be in the next room singing along to something on the radio, and she’d call out, “Sing it with feeling!” Then she’d join in from the kitchen like we were recording a duet. In those moments, I felt seen, loved, and poured into. It was pure joy.
Those memories shaped everything I am today. They taught me the power of music, the importance of connection, and the beauty of expressing yourself fully. Even now, every time I perform or write a song, I still feel a piece of those childhood moments with her.
