Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ve encountered various challenges in relation to the difficulties of creating art in Haiti and making a living from my passion, both economically and socially. The medium I specialize in is digital art, and I’ve organized various international exhibitions. One of the main challenges has been accessing the necessary materials, as they are hard to find in Haiti. I also faced ridicule and a lack of support from those around me; to them, it was a crazy dream that I couldn’t achieve. But I proved them wrong, showing that it’s possible to achieve great things no matter where you are.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a digital artist, and my work primarily focuses on pushing the boundaries of creativity through digital mediums. I specialize in creating immersive and visually striking digital illustrations and experiences. Over the years, I have developed a unique style that merges traditional artistic principles with the endless possibilities that digital tools offer.
What I am most proud of is my ability to thrive in an environment like Haiti, where access to necessary materials and support for digital art is limited. Despite these challenges, I have been able to showcase my work internationally and participate in exhibitions across the globe. I’m proud of the fact that I’ve been able to inspire others to believe that it’s possible to succeed no matter where you are or what obstacles stand in your way.
What sets me apart is my deep connection to my roots and my desire to bring something new and innovative to the world of digital art. My work is not just about creating beautiful images; it’s about telling a story, challenging perceptions, and inspiring others to see the world in a different light. My dedication to continually evolving my craft while staying true to my vision is what makes my art stand out.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Luck has played a significant role in my life and career as a digital artist. On one hand, I consider myself fortunate to have discovered my passion for art at a young age. This early realization allowed me to dedicate time and effort to hone my skills and explore various artistic mediums. Additionally, being in the right place at the right time has opened doors for me, allowing me to collaborate with amazing clients and participate in exhibitions that have helped to elevate my profile.
On the other hand, I’ve also faced challenges that felt like bad luck. Access to materials and resources in Haiti can be incredibly difficult, which sometimes hinders my creative process. Moreover, I have encountered skepticism and doubt from those around me, which can be discouraging. However, I’ve learned to view these setbacks not as failures but as opportunities for growth and resilience.
Ultimately, I believe that while luck can influence certain outcomes, it’s the combination of hard work, perseverance, and seizing opportunities that truly shapes my path. I strive to create my own luck by continuously pushing forward, adapting to challenges, and maintaining a positive outlook.
