Check Out Stephanie Nicole’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Nicole.

Hi Stephanie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hola! My name is Stephanie, I am a “yankee” living in the south for just about 10 years now. I am a mother, a wife, Instagram junkie, gamer, event planner, foodie, makeup artist, and artist. A passionate creative left-handed activists. Family is everything & I’m blessed to have a huge one!

So I was a tomboy when I was younger and started wearing makeup around 19 years old. It’s no secret that I am obsessed at this point lol. #LateBloomer

Moving south was such a culture shock for me. I’m still getting used to things here almost 10 years later.
For years I felt like i was the only Puerto Rican in GA. Crazy huh?! I’ve finally found my community of people thank God. But it wasn’t easy or fast.

Living here I now realize the importance of culture and bringing awareness to and promoting mine. I refuse to let what my ancestors worked so hard for just die out.

So clearly at this point, I’m learning that my true passion is supporting and promoting Latina/Latinx Owned businesses. Of course, I’m more partial to makeup lol. But I will purchase even if it is a small order just to support my people.
I’m just so in awe by seeing my people win.

But in that same breath I am also very passionate about BIPOC brands in general, women-owned, and small local brands and seeing them all win!

On social media, I have built this community of amazing local women from all walks of life! Women of color, BIPOC brands and small local businesses. Are what I try to promote and work with.

Regardless I will always cheer for the underdog!

So go out. Do research on the brands you are supporting and putting money into. Research the owners. Support your people. Support your community. Be a voice for the voiceless. If you have privilege use it for what is right.  #NoKidsInCages #BlackLivesMatter

And I will now leave you with a few mottos I try to live by.

1 Keep God at the center ALWAYS.
2 You are who you surround yourself with.
3 You catch more bees with honey
4 You could be the brightest juiciest peach but there will always be someone who doesn’t like peaches.
5 Im not for everyone and that’s ok.
6 You are only in competition is yourself.
7 You hoping I fall I’m praying you fly.
We are not the same. I want to see us all win!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Oh no. There’s been crazy bumps and detours since I was a kid! I’m still working hard. But my creative mind would never let me stop. Of course, sometimes it gets overwhelming, and discouraging not seeing growth in my social media. But after I remember what and who I am doing it for. And it’s not for recognition. It’s It’s my people.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Gosh everything at this point. I paint, I draw, I coordinate events, I decorate events, I am a freelance makeup artist, and then some. I can’t even think of it all.

I think I am most proud of makeup looks whether it be on me or other people.
I love doing creative crazy looks on myself but I really love doing someone’s makeup and making them feel special and beautiful!

There’s something so special about seeing someone’s face after the transformation. And seeing how all I did was enhance the beauty they already have.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Try to be fearless. Do not get in your own head. There is literally nobody like you. You are the only you! If you try and do not get the answer you want at least you know you tried. But what if you try and get that yes!? How amazing would that be!? Be you be genuine to you. Put yourself out there. And those who are meant for you will gravitate to you. But you must be genuinely you!
