Today we’d like to introduce you to Sydtastic ® .
Hi Sydtastic ®, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My name is Sydni ‘Sydtastic’ Jones, and I’m a multifaceted creative. My main focus is music production, artistry, and songwriting. I primarily make Afrofusion, Amapiano, Gqom, Soca, Dancehall, Reggae, House, and R&B. I can’t wait to score tv/film and video games. I also independently create content for my brand, and starting in 2026, I’ll be collaborating more with other creators to expand my work even further.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Nothing about my personal or professional life has been smooth, but my life is a clear example of God’s grace. I have been through so much .. and In 2018, a traumatic event changed my life, and I thought my dreams of having my own imprint were over. Things are a little smoother now than they were just last year. I still deal with daily injuries, and most people don’t see them unless they’re close to me or take the time to listen — it is frustrating for your symptoms to be dismissed as “dramatic” after serving in the military. Before that, I was always a faithful musician, so I lean on knowing who I am. I’m humbled to have great connections in my industry and grateful to God for keeping me alive. In the past, I was constantly met with disingenuous people, misleading opportunities, and cruel intentions. But now, we’re in a new “renaissance” of independent creators. While it can feel rare to meet good people, it’s definitely possible. Our industry is filled with greats you may not recognize by face.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a multifaceted creative. Ive been an in-home record producer for 20 years this year! INSANE! I own my music imprint Sydtastic, LLC. and create multimedia around my music. I am a sound designer & true audiophile at heart. I am most proud of still having the first beat tape I ever made — Sydtastic Sampler Vol. 1. It’s unreleased, but it means a lot to me despite the cringe of making music as a child. My first sampler was actually a Yak Bak, (yes, the toy) so that was the beginning of me falling in love with creating samples instead of just consuming music. I’m also really proud of sticking with my social media accounts & website despite facing rejection. I never wanted to do everything by myself, but ownership and creative control have always been my priorities, so I focused on building that instead of chasing placements or vanity online. Honestly, being able to look back and celebrate 20 years of songwriting and production without being famous is literally a dream come true for me. God is unbelievably GOOD!
How do you think about happiness?
Making the “wake-up list” as I call it, makes me happy! Life is short. Despite dealing with chronic pain, being active physically keeps me happy. Seeing my nieces smile lifts my spirit. I love seeing random acts of kindness in our world and spending time with nature to feel grounded. Now that I’m more established, rest and silence make me happy too, lol. Rest is the best part of the day!
