Today we’d like to introduce you to Symone George.
Hi Symone, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hello, my name is Momo. I am the middle child of six kids growing up in a small town in Vacaville, CA. Growing up was always a little different. Especially trying to find my voice between home and school. It was sometimes difficult to fit in between my siblings and the kids at school.
Cause I was always so different and back then, different wasn’t “cool” as it is now. But thur the years I found out who I am with continuing to listen to God, follow my heart and gut. (I know pretty Chessy). But this really helps me. Thur following these necessities of becoming true to myself, I fallen in love with my natural hair and decided to make a hair page thur this to share and to help others to fall in love with their hair too. Now sitting at 60.2k (at the time of writing this) I feel like my voice has really helped a lot of people. All different ages and races as well. I still want to help more people as well as start a full-blow company with my hair page @_CurlyLioness__.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
For the most part, this has been a smooth road I don’t look at struggles as something that makes me mad or frustrated I look at them as “OK what does God really want me to do because obviously what I want to do it’s not the way that I should do it”. I look at setbacks as blessings because God is protecting me for something that I shouldn’t get my hands on at the moment
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I run a hair page and I promote the good and funny side of being a natural grue. I am known for always dying my natural curly hair and not afraid to take a bright bold color a chance. I am most proud of young girls and older women coming to me thanking me for my tips and tricks on how to keep their natural hair healthy. What sets me aside from others is the fact that I am not going to let one product one setback stop me for dying my hair because one day, there will be a product out there that won’t damage our hair and we can dye our hair as many time as we want and still have healthy hair on our heads.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson that I have learned on this journey is to love myself with short hair curly hair or straight hair, my hair with braids and patience you have got to have a lot of patience for dealing with your natural hair.
