Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamia Clark
Hi Tamia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been into creating digital media. I started with making high functioning MySpace pages, shifting to YouTube forcing my family members to do “music videos” with all the cool edits, to growing up in my mid teen to teenage years with Instagram resulting in a huge incline of my follower count. To me, creating was a hobby I loved that turned into a career as technology advanced. I now am a lifestyle influencer and social media coordinator that specializes in personal content, business branding, content creation, and social media marketing.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road is only as smooth as you want it to be. The problems I’ve experienced were actually a result of my lack of commitment and consistency as well as, me telling myself I wasn’t good enough or experienced enough for the jobs or goals I set out for myself. Stopping at one no can lead your mind to believe that the answer will always be no and you miss out on what’s actually waiting for you. I’ve reached out to jobs I was overqualified for and still got rejected. When I shifted my perspective to fully believe rejection is protection a lot of things changed for me.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m mostly known for being a content creator in whatever category fits haha. My actual job is digital marketing and lifestyle influencing work. For others, I specialize in business branding, social media strategy, content creation, and PR. For myself, I create content for beauty, lifestyle, and travel. As an influencer, my goal is to make everyone feel seen and equal. People in my position have a tendency to add to the perfection illusion of social media culture. I want to use my platform and reach to connect everyone. Because we are humans and more than likely deal with the same problems in different ways, I want to let people know that we are all one. I’m most proud of my transparency with my audience about my journey. I take losses, quite a bit actually, I get rejected, I compare myself often, my love life is a bunch of question marks at times, and yes the green does look greener on the other side at times! At the end of the day, it’s about getting back in alignment and staying in your body. When you’re present, consistent, and dedicated to your journey, even with everything I listed above, slowly leaves you. I said those things to say, we all are the same, how we respond to them is what makes all the difference in the world.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
This sounds cliché but.. no risk no reward! I’m definitely a “risk taker” but it is really risky listening to your gut? The only reason why we view things as risks is because we can’t physically see the end goal. When we feel the nudge to do something, and we deem it risky is because we cannot see what we’re being led to do, but the feeling to move is there and it’s úsalo pretty heavy. It’s better to trust what you’re being led to do than to stick around and be forced to move! The more you submit and let go, the easier the journey gets.
