Today we’d like to introduce you to Taneka Nesbitt.
Hi Taneka, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I worked in Banking for over 12 years and as a benefit to my customers being a personal banker, I got my Notary certification. Never used it for much other than what customers needed at the bank. Then in 2010, I left the banking industry and my notary stamp was something I never used again until this big demand came in 2019, I started getting a job here and there locally to my home in Coweta county for notary jobs but the word of mouth because I wasn’t perusing this as a job or anything. Then when the pandemic hit, the Notary work was something I fell into more and more. I decided with some of my down time from Work, to do some paid training, research and of course, take some more classes at youtube University!
I started advertising as a notary on a platform called Thumbtack, On social media platforms and the work started to pour in along with the Questions from other notaries. I found myself coaching and mentoring. I decided to start my own classes and that became very fulfilling because I was showing others who wanted extra income how to become a notary and how to properly do the job and what was needed as well as how to market themselves like I did! I just simply gave them my blueprint. I felt good helping people genuinely create another source of income for themselves and in the process, I was doing the same! I never stopped working as a Notary for the coaching and till this day I am still a Mobile Notary and Notary Signing agent. I love what I do for the communities I service! Even more so I love helping others!
My name Ladies and The Stamp was created when my daughter got on board. She became a Notary for the first time in 2020 and because I knew in my heart this going to be bigger than us two, I know I needed a name. She came up with the name and I fell in love with it, we stuck with it ever since. My daughter Is my silent partner.
Fast forward today, I was able to help over 100 women and men become Notaries or dominate in the Notary industry financially. My target audience is mainly women all over the world from Atlanta to Alaska! It’s not a full-time business just yet but it’s going in the right direction!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This has been a smooth road but very rocky. The industry, like any other industry has its ups and downs. I literally started out with just my Notary stamp doing 1 Notary job a month to now getting calls and texts from attorneys and title companies which puts me at 2-3 Notary jobs a week and sometimes a day.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am Mobile Notary Public and Notary Loan Signing Agent who also Coaches others my blueprint to success as a Mobil Notary public and Notary Loan signing agent.
I am most proud of the accomplishments my students have made as well as how I have been able to help my community thrive. Most people don’t have the time to get to banks or find a place to get their documents notarized on their schedule or just can’t leave the house for disability purposes. It feels good to help others out! I’m super proud of what I do and what I help others achieve!
What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is that I’m doing right by people and in the process earning a little bit of my time back now that my kids are grown and it’s just me and my husband, I get to work mainly from home and hopefully one day I can retire me and him from our day jobs while we’re able to smell the roses!
