Check Out Tanesha Brun’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tanesha Brun

Hi Tanesha, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started my thrifting business in 2020, but my love for secondhand treasures goes back much further. I’ve always been drawn to the thrill of “the hunt” finding unique, high-quality pieces that tell a story.
What started as a personal hobby quickly turned into something more when I realized how much I loved curating special finds for others.

In the beginning, I was just sourcing items here and there, selling a few things online, and learning as I went. But as I grew more passionate about it, I started refining my eye for timeless, vintage, name brands and well-made pieces. Over time, my little side hustle became something bigger—a way to share my love for secondhand shopping while helping others build a more intentional, stylish wardrobe and home.

Now, my focus is on curating quality thrifted finds that bring personality and charm to your closet. Whether it’s a vintage gem or a beautifully crafted modern piece, I love knowing that each item I sell is being saved from the land fills and getting a second life with someone who truly appreciates it.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like any small business, my thrifting journey has had its fair share of challenges. In the beginning, I struggled with figuring out what would actually sell versus what I personally loved. There were times when I sourced items that I thought were amazing, only to have them sit unsold for months. Learning to balance my personal style with what my audience wanted was a big learning curve.

Sourcing at times can be another challenge—finding high-quality, unique pieces takes time and effort. Some thrifting trips are gold mines, while others i walk out empty handed .

But through all the ups and downs, I’ve kept going because I truly love what I do. I’ve learned to be patient, adapt, and trust the process. Every challenge has helped me refine my skills, grow my business, and better serve my customers.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Well I’m a natural light photographer as well as a curated thrift shopper, and I love capturing both people and timeless pieces in their best light. In photography, I specialize in lifestyle sessions that feel natural and authentic.

In my thrifting business, I focus on sourcing high-quality, unique secondhand finds that bring personality and charm to your wardrobe. I’m transitioning into curating more vintage and timeless pieces, items that have a story, stand the test of time, and help people express their personal style in a sustainable way.

What sets me apart is my eye for authenticity. Whether it’s behind the camera or in a thrift store, I’m drawn to what feels real, timeless, and meaningful. I don’t just sell clothes, I curate pieces that help people feel more like themselves. I don’t just take photos, I document moments that people will cherish for years.

I’m most proud of the fact that I’ve built my businesses while being a homeschooling mom. It’s not always easy, but I love showing other moms that you can pursue your passions while raising a family. It’s all about finding the balance that works for you and being willing to grow along the way.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
In the thrifting world, I expect secondhand shopping to become even more mainstream. More people are prioritizing sustainability, quality, and unique finds over fast fashion. Vintage and high-end secondhand pieces will likely become even more desirable because people want well-made, timeless items. I also think there will be a bigger focus on curated shopping experiences instead of digging through racks, customers will want hand-selected finds that fit their personal style.

people want things that feel personal, timeless, and connected to a bigger story. This movement isn’t going anywhere it’s only growing!
