Today we’d like to introduce you to Tatyanna Freeman
Hi Tatyanna, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My story begins from a place of feeling invisible, like no one really saw me for who I was or what I could contribute. For so long, I struggled with being overlooked and misunderstood, whether because of my mental health issues, my neurodivergence, or simply because I didn’t fit into the boxes that society often expects us to fit into. It wore on me. I got tired of being treated like I was nothing, like I didn’t matter. But it was in the space of being able to open up something of my own that the space of being invisible and unheard led me to finding the drive to change my life and reclaim my voice and power.
I turned to creativity as a way to express everything I was feeling inside. I started with digital art, using it as a canvas to explore my emotions and thoughts. I began to feel different in a way that words couldn’t capture. art and music in various forms became my therapy, and my connection to the formation of my true self.
As I worked through my personal challenges, including synesthesia and navigating the world on the autistic spectrum, I realized that creating wasn’t just something I did—it was something I needed to do. Art, music, photography—it all became a way to communicate when words failed. It was the first time I felt like I had something powerful to share with the world.
But even though I had found my creative outlets, there were still barriers. I experienced workplace harassment, abuse, and bullying and was often misunderstood because of my neurodivergence. It was tough, and there were moments I felt like giving up. But instead of letting those experiences defeat me, I used them as fuel. I refused to let others define my worth. I pushed forward because I knew that my voice, my perspective, and my work were important.
Now, looking back at everything I’ve overcome, I can see how far I’ve come—from a place of invisibility and silence to one of resilience, expression, and service. I’m not where I thought I would be, but I’m exactly where I’m meant to be—continuing to create, continue to heal, and continue to inspire others to find their voice and worth, just as I have. The journey was never smooth, but it’s mine—and it’s been one of the most rewarding things I could ever have imagined.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Workplace harassment is another battle many people have faced including myself, but it’s often swept under the rug or minimized. Experiencing harassment can have long-lasting emotional effects, and it’s especially difficult when those in the workplace fail to understand the depth of the situation or don’t take steps to support you.
As someone on the autism spectrum, it can be incredibly challenging to be understood in a world that often isn’t equipped to deal with the different ways people communicate, process, and experience life. Many people don’t realize that neurodiversity comes with both strengths and challenges. While society might not always be equipped to handle these differences.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
The art world is likely to continue embracing technological advancements, with digital art, NFTs, and immersive technologies becoming central to both creation and consumption. At the same time, the influence of social and political causes will keep shaping art’s role in society. Sustainability, decentralization, and new business models will also play a critical part in defining the industry’s future. The next decade could lead to a more inclusive, dynamic, and ever-evolving art ecosystem.
Art’s role as a vehicle for social and political commentary will likely become even more prominent, especially as movements like climate change awareness, racial justice, and gender equality continue to push boundaries. Artists are becoming increasingly vocal, and this will likely continue to be a defining trend in how art is created and consumed
