Today we’d like to introduce you to Terella Williams
Hi Terella, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I believe you’re born an entrepreneur contrary to what others may say. When I was about 6 or 7 years old I used to sell Grit( it was a newspaper that came in the mail) . I went door to door selling the paper. As I got older I sold candy, pickles, nachos and I’ve done in home childcare.
As a young adult I worked in a couple of warehouses, restaurants, retail and childcare. Most of my time and passion is working with children. My last position was a Director of a large daycare in Paulding County. Even though I love the families , helping and nurturing the children it was time that I fulfill some more of my dreams.
As I set at my desk with tears streaming down my face I said God, I’m tired and I want to do some other things let me husband know so he will be on board with the move. My husband called at that moment and said”God showed me you, He let me know you’re ready to move. So whenever you’re ready to leave you can.
At that moment I said Thank you God. I begin to decide what business I would pursue first.
Rella’s Boutique is the one I decided to go after. Years ago my husband purchased a dress for my birthday, it didn’t fit well so I returned it. As I’m walking around this store( it was a business in a house) I loved the vibe. I said oh I like this, I can do a Ladies Boutique( instead of a consignment store I’d thought of). I begin Rella’s Boutique in my garage doing FB live, going to pop ups part time as I still worked.I left my job and pursued Rella’s Boutique full time for a year. Looked for a space where customer could actually come. So I came across the space I’m currently at.
Rella’s Boutique is a place that I want you to feel welcome to come shop, laugh, unwind and dare to come out of your comfort zone through one outfit, hat or accessory at a time. If you’re looking for something/ someone unique shop with Rella’s Boutique.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has not been smooth on this journey. Some people think you have to have a building to have a business. You’re not taking serious if you’re an e commerce. Other challenges has been attending some pop ups over charging small businesses. Looking for good vendors. It’s still a bumpy road at times but I’m believing it’s going to get better as I keep walking.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Rella’s Boutique is not just another store, I’m not just another person. Rella’s Boutique is owned by a person with a down to earth personality, loves to smile, loves to encourage others to learn to appreciate themselves and to come out of the comfort zone. Though I will make money through my business it’s not just about the money it’s about the people. Some of us don’t feel comfortable wearing something because of their age, size or other limitations that has been placed on them. What I’m most proud of is all the challenges God has bought me through.
What were you like growing up?
As I was growing up I was the one that looked out for others if they were bullied or mistreated. I love crafts,I enjoyed drawing, walking and collecting rocks. I have always loved to smile and laugh.
