Hi terrence, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
my story always start as me in high school drawing hairstyles for girls to get there hair done in the styles I drew, mostly my friend and dance partner ( I was in a dance crew) BRANDI SHILOH wore my styles I gotta find pic . but yes I started drawing then wen from seeing my cumins do hair once I graduated from high school I wanted to do hair like they did but I went to school at DEVRY TECH. for business operations and eventually went to beauty school I hated business school that was my major business operations lol.. but yes I started at hoe in my moms living room and ended up going beauty school
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
nothing is easy, as I packed up from Atlanta to pursue my career in celebrity hairstyling by moving from Atlanta to new jersey with my cousin mike and hhis wife Joyce I slept there until I found room to rent and started my heavy struggle and journey to pursue celebrity hairstyling. it was definitely not easy I had a lot of challenges from being dam near actually was homeless and just sleeping couch to couch to keep going and pursuing my magic in hair.leaving my son at 6yrs old to go to nyc was hard I was broke with a dream. but I made it happen and my son ended up moving with me once he was in 8th grade and my uncle stepped in and helped me and had my son live wit him as I kept grinding out my dream.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
iam a hairstylist that just so happen to do celebrity hair as my dream ,but I now tell people be careful what you pray and ask for because in this industry especially music you need tuff skin ….REAL TUFF SKIN,,I love fatansay hair but I do every type of hair but being creative is my passion which took me to hair battles and becoming a mentor to many of stylist through out the world, which is called LEGION OF GLAM, it starts at a cabin retreat we call bootcamp where we learn how to EAT SLEEP DRINK AND PRAY TOGETHER AS A TEAM.so now no more competing but teaching those to compete and build confidence in themselves and craft. the retreat is once a year the next in October we stay in a 14 bedroom mansion in the mountains and that’s where the dreams begin.ME BEING ME SETS ME APART FROM OTHERS
