Today we’d like to introduce you to Tianyi Xie.
Hi Tianyi, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am an international student from China. I spent four years in Atlanta and went to art school. Now I have graduated and am working as a freelance illustrator. In these four years, I have enjoyed my life in Atlanta and my study career very much. And I use these interesting experiences as inspiration to start my creative work.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Sometimes it can be extremely difficult. The lack of inspiration, life’s chores, and low moods can all become obstacles. It’s a journey of collapse and healing, and no matter how many times you learn from the experience, there will always be new problems.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I work as a freelance artist and my work revolves around painting. I specialize in concept design for game campaigns, but I will try anything art-related. I am most proud of my persistence and reflection in my art. I insist on seeing the world the way I see it and often look back at the way they have changed. This gives me inspiration and food for thought.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I would say that my teachers and my friends have been indispensable to me along the way. I have met many teachers and I have learned a lot from their teaching and advice. They have helped me to make my work better. My teammates have been just as meaningful. Without them, I can hardly imagine if my schooling would have been more difficult. We share experiences and have fun together. We learn from each other. Helping me get out of my slump has been invaluable and indispensable.
