Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffani Davis
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
As a kid, like many others, I would draw pictures and doodles for my parents, and they would either keep them or put them on the fridge. I believe my love for art stemmed from watching my dad create amazing pieces of work using just a pen, pencil, and paper. I thought it was so cool, so I gave it a shot myself.
As time went on, my parents began to notice that my drawings were more than just abstract figures. They started seeing details and an artistic style in my work. Drawing became my passion and continued throughout my school years—I was the girl who was always drawing in class.
Then one day, during my 10th-grade year, my computer teacher pulled me aside in class and asked if I had ever thought about becoming a graphic designer. I wasn’t sure what that was at the time. She saw something in me that I didn’t see in myself and even gave me my first client to design a logo for.
Although I didn’t know how to use software like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, I made use of what I did know—Microsoft Paint. Funny to think about now! But I created my first logo, and the client loved it. From that day on, I decided that graphic design would be the major I pursued in college.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There were ups and downs, mainly because, as a designer, you go through different phases. For me, the first challenge was getting through college—learning the rules, tips, and tricks—before branching out into the real world to find a design job. I would always get interviews but never land the job, which was frustrating. So, I decided to explore my talents further by trying out the entrepreneurial side of design while also figuring out my niche and personal style.
One of the best things that came out of college was meeting a student named “TL on the Beat.” He was going around campus asking if anyone was a graphic designer. At the time, I was only a sophomore, so I hesitated to answer because I didn’t feel experienced enough. But I finally found the confidence to blurt out, “I do!” That moment changed everything. He introduced me to his videographer friend, Cori—aka The Garden—who needed a logo. Cori loved my work, and from that one connection, I built most of my clientele through word of mouth. That’s when my work really took off.
However, with all this new clientele came new struggles. I didn’t know how to price my work. I didn’t want to undervalue myself, but I also wasn’t sure if I was charging too much. I doubted my worth and ended up overworking myself for very little money. There were times when I had plenty, and other times when I had none. Eventually, I had to recognize my own value—I create amazing work, and my price is my price. Clients needed to respect that just as much as I respected them.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
With over a decade of experience in branding, front-end web design, UX/UI, and layout, I have had the opportunity to work with celebrity artists in the music industry, restaurants, and a variety of businesses seeking to establish and enhance their brand identity. It amazing to see my work not only just in my hometown Atlanta but also overseas in Africa and India.
My expertise extends to designing marketing materials such as business cards, packaging, flyers, menus, signage, and more, ensuring cohesive and impactful brand representation.
Brand design is my specialty, and I have a deep passion for creating visually compelling and memorable logos. I take great pride in my work, striving to craft designs that not only capture the essence of a brand but also leave a lasting impression. My creativity, attention to detail, and dedication to innovation allow me to develop unique brand identities that stand out in competitive markets.
I am a hardworking, creative thinker who values authenticity, which has helped me build strong and lasting relationships with my clients. While they appreciate my clean and innovative branding style, my ultimate goal is to ensure their vision is effectively translated into a brand identity that is both impactful and enduring.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
To me, success is finding joy in my craft, taking pride in my work, and embracing the creative process—from the initial concept to the final masterpiece that brings happiness to others. There’s something truly magical about transforming a digital design into a tangible creation that exists in the real world. Seeing my work come to life, making an impact, and resonating with people is the ultimate fulfillment—that’s success in my eyes.
