Check Out Tina Arnold’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tina Arnold.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started baking seriously in 2010. I began baking so that I could afford extracurricular activities for my children. They were in ROTC, band, basketball, football, etc. I wanted to make sure that they were able to be in any and everything that their hearts desired,

Once I began baking and started gaining a following, I was able to see that I actually had a bright future in the Cake and Sweets Community. I made my name known by serving up delicious and beautiful treats that people just had to have at their events.

Once things started to play out, I realized that we were becoming too big for the kitchen and needed to start looking for a brick-and-mortar. We pray that the only way that we are going is up!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has definitely been a rough road. There have been so many struggles and obstacles that we have faced along the way. Some days we worried about not having any clients, to being overwhelmed with 12 orders a weekend and trying to see how we were going to do it all. To being too tired to bake to forgetting someones order and even being a little late to drop off, Hey we are human and we might make a mistake every now and then. But we certainly try our best on every order to make sure that everything is perfect.

Now, since we are in a physical location, we deal with the public, making custom orders, keeping up with the demands of our gourmet treats, juice, our Hot Pound Cake, and our famous Banana Pudding!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in custom cakes, treats, and delicious candy apples. We are more than willing and able to service corporate events, schools events, church events, office parties, Christmas parties, family reunions, etc. We literally do it all.

I am most proud of our long list of gourmet Pound Cakes. From Plain, Lemon Blueberry, Strawberry, Banana Pudding, Cream Cheese, and our oh so moist and delicious Sweet Potato Pound Cake; this is only a few of them. When the Hot Pound Cake comes on, make sure that you are in the place.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I am the baby of four children. I was heavily involved in music and sports. I grew up on the church where I sang quite often. I was always singing The National Anthem at football and basketball games. I was in the Magnet Program at Tri-Cities High School; a well-known High School just outside of Atlanta. I left there and graduated from Frederick Douglass High School in Atlanta, GA.

I’ve always had an interest in cooking and I’m so glad that I was able to fulfill my lifelong dream.
