Check Out Tragic Thespians’ Story

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Tragic Thespians.

Tragic Thespians

Hello Tragic Thespians, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.

We’re an Australian entertainment/arts podcast called Tragic Thespians. We are involved in the Australian arts scene and use our podcast to entertain, inform and also provide a platform for emerging theatre companies/artists and creatives form all walks of life.

We started with the intention to keep a foot in the industry after graduating by promoting our and our friend’s shows. Since then, our intentions and focus have shifted from ourselves to the listeners.

We keep listeners updated and entertained with film, television, music, and theatre. We have been privileged to collaborate with companies that inspire us and our listeners, such as Purple Tape Productions, Fruitbox Productions, KXT, CrissCross Productions, Theatre Travels, Theatre Thoughts, and many more.

We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Covid was the biggest obstacle by far (as it was for many others). There was a lot of uncertainty about whether the entertainment industry would ever be the same. As a result, we were on hiatus for a long time, thinking there wouldn’t be an opportunity to return.

The studio that we previously recorded shut down; there was a glitch in one of the hosting websites where we stored our media and corrupted a lot of our earlier files, and everything around us was changing rapidly. Little did we know then that there was a light at the end of the tunnel.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are heavily involved in the arts scene, promoting them through different avenues. We mainly promote shows through our Podcast, Tragic Thespians.

We’re proud that our name has become synonymous with independent and mainstream media. Many creatives in our industry get their start in independent theatre, so providing coverage for that sector ensures they can be seen and heard.

What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson we’ve learned along our journey is that everybody has a story to tell, and their voices need to be heard. So many companies are making people’s visibility a reality, and our mission is to expand these platforms to the greatest heights within social media.
