Today we’d like to introduce you to Valerie Williams.
Valerie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
For Valerie Williams, videography has never just been about pressing record—it’s been about preserving moments that matter.
Her journey began in high school, when she enrolled in a small video production class during her senior year. Armed with curiosity and a borrowed camera, Valerie discovered something unexpected: she loved storytelling. Not scripted stories, but real ones—moments filled with emotion, movement, and meaning. What started as a class assignment quickly became a calling.
After high school, Valerie pursued her passion further by studying film and media, investing in her first professional camera, and slowly turning what once felt like a “side hustle” into something much bigger. Through trial, growth, and countless hours behind the lens, she learned not just how to shoot video—but how to truly see people.
Today, Valerie is the founder of Valerie Williams Videography, a Georgia-based video production brand serving weddings, small businesses, churches, and community events. She is also the Media Director and Videographer at her home church, where she leads visual storytelling efforts with one clear purpose: to point people back to Jesus.
“My heart has always been drawn to stories that mean something,” Valerie shares. “Whether it’s a couple on their wedding day, a small business owner chasing a dream, or a church community celebrating life change—I want every film to reflect hope and ultimately point people back to Jesus.”
What sets Valerie apart is her approach. She isn’t interested in overly staged moments or forced perfection. Instead, she focuses on authenticity—capturing emotion as it naturally unfolds. Her films are known for their warmth, intentional pacing, and ability to reflect the heart behind every story.
As a local creative rooted in her community, Valerie is passionate about supporting small businesses and telling stories that often go unnoticed. Many of her favorite projects involve working closely with entrepreneurs, couples, and churches to visually share who they are and why they do what they do.
Looking ahead, Valerie hopes to continue growing her brand while staying grounded in what matters most: faith, community, and storytelling with purpose.
“Videography has given me a way to serve others,” she says. “If my work can encourage someone, inspire hope, or point them back to Jesus, then I know I’m doing exactly what I was called to do.”
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all. While videography is something I deeply love, the journey hasn’t been easy—especially when it comes to finding clients. Videographers are truly a dime a dozen, and standing out in a saturated industry can be one of the hardest parts of this career.
There have been seasons where I questioned myself, compared my work to others, and wondered if I was doing enough. Building trust, visibility, and consistent bookings takes time, and that process can feel discouraging at times.
But those challenges have also shaped me. They’ve pushed me to stay rooted in my purpose rather than chasing trends or quick success. I’ve learned that my role isn’t just to create beautiful videos, but to serve people well, tell stories with intention, and trust God with the growth.
Every project, big or small, has stretched me—creatively and personally. And even on the hard days, I’m reminded that what’s meant for me won’t miss me. I believe that staying faithful, consistent, and authentic will continue to open the right doors in the right time.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a videographer and visual storyteller, and I specialize in capturing meaningful, real-life moments through wedding films, small business videos, church media, and community events. At the heart of everything I create is storytelling—videos that feel genuine, emotional, and reflective of the people behind them.
I’m especially known for my ability to make people feel comfortable on camera and for capturing moments as they naturally unfold rather than forcing anything to feel staged. Whether it’s a wedding day, a business owner sharing their passion, or a church celebrating life change, my goal is always the same: to tell the story in a way that feels honest and impactful.
What I’m most proud of is being trusted with people’s most meaningful moments. From couples reliving their wedding day, to businesses seeing their story come to life on screen, to church videos that point people back to Jesus—those moments are never something I take lightly.
What sets me apart is my purpose-driven approach. I don’t just show up with a camera; I show up with intention. My faith plays a big role in my work, and I strive to serve people well, lead with authenticity, and create films that leave a lasting impact. I believe that when you focus on people first and storytelling with heart, the work naturally stands out.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is not to write people off if they don’t respond right away. Early on, it’s easy to assume that silence means disinterest or a missed opportunity, but that hasn’t proven to be true.
I’ve learned that timing plays a huge role in this industry. Someone may not be ready when you first reach out, but months later they may come back when the timing aligns. Because of that, I’ve learned to lead with patience, grace, and consistency rather than discouragement.
This lesson has shaped how I approach relationships and business. Instead of focusing on quick responses or immediate results, I focus on building genuine connections and showing up professionally every time. Trust takes time, and I’ve learned that some of the best opportunities come later—when you least expect them.
