Today we’d like to introduce you to We’re All Set
Hi We’re All Set, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Our friendship started around 2005 when we were freshmen at Morehouse College. Most of the show’s core concept is based on what we did with our group of friends in college which is argue about hip-hop; debate sports; and analyze whatever is happening in the culture. We realized early on that around that time, Atlanta was becoming the center of black culture in so many different ways that continues today. We started the podcast around 2018 when Rich got out of a short prison stint. We had discussed starting a podcast for years as an extension of our group chat conversations and Rich was extra motivated to get started when he came home. We put out our first episode on soundcloud and it really rang off. We argued about Meek Mill’s Championships album and our early fans still quote moments from that episode to this day. The rest is really history that we are still writing.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not. We started off recording on our phones and then we expanded to a group of 3 before settling back on just co-hosts Rich and Free. We have had all the arguments you can think of about dedication, direction, and responsibility which of all have naturally settled into place. One thing we have never done is quit. We have been consistently putting out episodes since we started and have come a long ways from audio only to full video podcasting with a set. Jay-z always said the genius thing about Roc-a-Fella was that they never stopped. At the end of the day, we know that’s really the hardest thing to do but eventually the cream rises and our fans respect and love our consistency.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
For us, Covid-19 didnt stop anything. If anything it helped keep people focus on the podcast medium especially the video podcasts. Around Covid-19 was also the time where we started to invest more money and energy into pod. We invested in a big redesign of out studio set which has paid dividends. We have come into new partnerships and all of them have commented on how the number of episodes we have dropped (161 and counting) shows we are the real deal. We have also learned to optimize our output by leveraging AI tools. The Covid-19 era was not a game changer in terms of our mindset though, we always understood our talent to entertain was authentic and would get noticed eventually with consistency.
