Check Out Willie Mack’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Willie Mack.

Hi Willie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up around music, both my mother, father and older sister sang. I began singing at the age of three. Growing up, I watched and emulated artists like Usher TLC and Prince. In 2014 after a conversation with my older brother, I decided to pursue a career as a professional singer. There would be many false starts but after graduating college in the spring of 2017, I started my professional music career. My first single “What U Gon Do?” released in September of 2019. My follow up single “So Far Gone“ was released in February of 2020. I began work for what would become my first project in March of 2021. In September of that year, I released the first single from my impending ep entitled “Witness” featuring Ha$e. The six months recording process would in 2022 birth my first full-length ep entitled Handsome.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. There have been plenty of false starts. I’ve dealt with shady contracts janky record labels conniving producers you name it, lol. As a kid, I was so sure of what I wanted to be I was actually quite obnoxious about it, but when life started kicking my butt, I lost my confidence. After losing my dad to ALS in 2012, I was really ready to give it all up. Although I attempted to let my dreams go thankfully they didn’t let me go.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My music is a delicate blend of soul and 90s R&B modernized for the millennial ear sprinkled with a little bit of gospel (I grew up in it so I can’t help it, lol). As a performer, what sets me apart is that mere fact that I am a true entertainer to the core! A WillieMack performance comes equipped with high energy full, out belting falsettos that know no end and full choreography. I try to make each performance an experience for the audience.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I love to bake! Cookies are my specialty. My nieces and nephew love my red velvet cake cookies!
