Today we’d like to introduce you to Xin Lu.
Hi Xin, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Like most people, I was craving social companionship during the pandemic. My husband encouraged me to start a public Instagram account to document home projects I was doing. Through that, I found there was a DIY community and I have been sharing more and more home projects since.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely been a challenge as I try to balance being a mom/wife vs being a content creator. Both roles demand a lot of time and energy and I’m still learning how to balance my time.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m most proud of my One Room Challenge makeovers. I’ve done it three times (currently on my 4th one) and I pour all my time and energy into it for 8 weeks to completely change a room from top to bottom.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Playing outside after school with the kids from our street without any adult supervision.
