Today we’d like to introduce you to Rah West and Donald Spy.
Hi Rah and Donald, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
We had a conversation about our goals and dreams for our future and we both stated that a lounge was the one thing we wanted to accomplish. We started doing research and building a solid business plan for the lounge and in 2020 we found a location and knew we needed to buckle down to fund this major project. We both worked three jobs to pay the overhead for the location with no loans or investors. We went from having bad contractors to running right into a pandemic.
In September of 2020, we had a grand opening for Social House Hookah Lounge. Here we are five months in and have had 8,000 customers to date to support us at social House Hookah Lounge. We wanted to bring a city experience to cobb county. We provide an experience that is like no other. Walking into Social House Hookah Lounge, you will get an upscale city vibe with being able to smoke various flavors of hookahs such as the “Social Chi.” The Lounge is set up for you to enjoy yourself with the opportunity of Purchasing food from Food Trucks daily and enjoy its tasty Drink menu.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has had its ups and downs for us; we started out in the business with no build out knowledge so running from contractor to contractor was a lot emotionally and financially also opening a business during a pandemic can be tough, especially in a restaurant/lounge not many people are going out.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Aside from Co-Owning Social House Hookah Lounge, Rah West is a Digital Art Teacher for a Charter School in the city of Atlanta, where he provides art education for Children K-8. He loves creating Art resources for children and businesses to help them maximize their education in art.
I am most proud of being able to help people grow in themselves creatively I believe I was put on this earth to guide individuals through the process of what it means to be creative.
Donald Spy is the owner of Donald Spy Marketing and Public Relations he is known for being a Media Mogul who happens to be an entrepreneur and influencer. Having worked for the Black Ink Atlanta, Black Ink Houston, and Nouveau Atlanta, building brands to a level of Profit and exposure is his thing. He’s the Proudest of how far he has come in life having business, all while building business has not been easy but have made it through.
I am the proud father of three children and I strive daily to make sure they can see that anything is possible for them
Who else deserves credit in your story?
Family and God has been there for the both of us through it all. We feel as though without them we wouldn’t be where were are at this point in our success.
