Check out Taylor Zorzi’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Zorzi.

Taylor, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
My interest in photography and videography started at a young age. My friends and I were always running around with cameras making home movies. Also, my mom is a photographer and was always taking photos of us. I remember always being fascinated with the process of film photography. On several occasions, we would take a Christmas card photo, wait two weeks to get the photos back only to find out that we had to reshoot because my eyes were closed.

In high school, I played several instruments and thought I wanted to spend my career in a music studio. But when I interned in a music studio, I realized there was no way I’d be able to sit in an office for 12 hours every day. After realizing that I didn’t want to sit in an office making music for others, I thought It would be cool if I could make music for my own videos. This also led to taking photos, and my love for both exploded.

In college, I was trying to figure out how to purchase my first camera. I was working at a climbing gym with my best friend, Michael Baker, saving money for my first body. One afternoon I found the camera I wanted on craigslist. That very same day, out of nowhere, Michael supplied me with the exact amount of money I needed to purchase the camera, not knowing what I needed for. That kickstarted my career.

During college, I would DJ to make extra money, and I fell in love with electronic music. This led to opportunities to photograph in clubs. From there, I was able to go on tours and photograph at some great venues. But I realized quickly that the music industry doesn’t pay well, and I wanted to be able to do this for a living. I started shooting everything I could; wedding, portrait, real estate, corporate. As jobs began to pick up, I realized that I was making a career and a business out of doing what I loved every day. I started researching and figuring out how to make my business legit.

During that time, I met my wife, Hayley. She is a graphic designer. We decided to build the business together. It incorporates everything in one, so we can offer the best to our clients. We work really well together, and the bonus is we get to travel the world together.

As our business continues to grow, we have been able to add employees and services. On top of photography, videography, and brand creation, we now offer social media marketing to our clients. We are excited to continue growing and continue partnering with great clients to create lasting experiences.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
We are a creative agency and artist collective comprised of photographers, designers, writers, and storytellers. We are devoted to helping brands find themselves and their audiences. Essentially, we want to build brands up while building people up.

Our biggest job is to be personable with our clients. While creating the content that they love, we want to make sure they have the best experience possible. We want our clients to have a fun time working with us. And we hope that the end result is unlike anything they’ve ever had before.

What should you know about our artwork? We would still be creating even if we weren’t getting paid to do so. We are passionate about our work, and we will do everything we can to make it our best because we really are doing what we love.

The sterotype of a starving artist scares away many potentially talented artists from pursuing art – any advice or thoughts about how to deal with the financial concerns an aspiring artist might be concerned about?
The business part is the hardest part. Definitely take the time to learn the business side as well as perfecting your craft. You don’t need a fancy camera to take amazing photos. And you don’t need a high-end computer to make great design work. Use what you have.

A good CPA that can help you save money on your taxes is amazing.

If you are passionate about your art, pursue that passion no matter what time of the day it is. You have to put in the work. Whether it is 9-5 or 5 -9. If you put in the work, you will succeed.

It’s not easy. Even if you’re putting in the time during 9-5, you still have to work hard to start a business and succeed.

Never quit perfecting your art.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
