Hi Abioduni, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
10/17/2014 was the year I started my company dew.com.co. As a color change vinyl and commercial car wrapping business, I opened my doors. We have grown since then, to a full-blown signage and solar installation company. In the beginning, I knew nothing about the signage industry when I first started. I started learning through YouTube videos, teaching myself all I could about the signage industry. Only after a year of pain and suffering learning this industry, I open my shop, at the time it was called D&E Wraps. Ten years in business hasn’t been easy late nights and early mornings; as difficult as it is starting a business, I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting my company hasn’t been easy. At the time, I was going through a divorce. When you take on a great task like opening a business you are bound to face obstacles along the way that will end friendships and you could possibly lose your family behind it. There is no balanced lifestyle in the beginning. Challenges in business are ongoing, one must continue to have a positive mindset to continue moving forward to achieve your goals. I have struggled during the years trying to find the right employees to do the work I am no longer able to do. Training the right people is also a struggle because you have to deal with trying to retain the people you trained to stay with the company you are building long enough to, for lack of better terms; not care if they leave. Sounds harsh but that is the reality of business these days.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am an installation company located now in Atlanta, GA. We travel the world installing signage, vinyl, and solar panels. Most people would assume that we are a signage company, but we are not, we are an installation company. My company builds teams to install or fix all manners of machines in different emerging markets. We are proud to be a service provider to industry in all sectors. You readers should know that we will be the market leader in service, and we pride ourselves on “Doing Everything Wonderfully.” This is what we stand for D.E.W.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Consistency, stubbornness and not being fearful, have always been my claim to fame when it comes to things that I want out of life. I don’t understand the word no or I can’t do it. I believe that you have to work the reality to enjoy the fantasy.
