Community Highlights: Meet Alex Boulogne of Pioneer Digital

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Boulogne.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
“There are two bosses. Me, and nobody else.” This is a quote from my four-year-old self while sitting around the dining room table at my first “official” business meeting for my dream start-up, “Golden Builders.”

My childhood was full of curiosity and big dreams. The only path I could visibly see myself going down was entrepreneurship. The ability to take control of your future and change the world is incredible to me. As I grew older, this spark, mindset, mentality, or whatever people call it, continued to grow stronger inside of me.

My faith is an integral part of my story and I feel called to bring that into the business space. I am inspired by companies like Chick-fil-A who have brought a light into the very dark business world and it is my dream to do the same.

I got really involved in DECA in high school and fell in love with marketing. When I got to college, I found an internship with the number one digital marketing agency in Atlanta called Marketwake and absolutely loved my time there. So much so that I spent two summers as an intern and did some part-time contracting work with them. It got to the point where I had friends and family offering to pay me for marketing services during my semesters at college. My passion for entrepreneurship and impressive marketing skills were combined at this moment and I was able to launch my agency “Pioneer Digital.”

I am currently a full-time student and a full-time entrepreneur. I will be graduating college with a degree in business management and a certificate in entrepreneurship. My social life revolves around the entrepreneurship program where I am VP of events for the Society of Entrepreneurs and spontaneous trips with friends whenever we can find the time.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In my lower education years, I sold candy to classmates for a small profit, operated a few lemonade stands, tried to start a small powerwashing company, and even tinkered with dropshipping. None of these satisfied my craving for entrepreneurship.

My largest struggle in starting a business was finding that million-dollar idea. I searched for problems of all sizes and I never felt passionate enough to pursue any of them. It got to the point where I even considered starting a company where random individuals could upload ideas they would like to see come into fruition and then a team of entrepreneurs could tackle that problem.

Starting Pioneer Digital has been a fun but rocky road. I have learned that most successful entrepreneurs make life look easy. There is no specific way to start a company, but continuous trial and error. Do something until you hit a dead end, learn where you made an error, and then continue forward until the whole process repeats itself.

I have multiple ways to go about dealing with these challenges. Reading books on emotional intelligence has helped me develop skills and a mindset to stay level-headed and persistant. I also have a personal board of directors that I speak with multiple times a week. They keep me accountable, push me to see my potential, and challenge my beliefs which can be extremely frustrating, but I wouldn’t be anywhere without them. My last method to dealing with obstacles and challenges is through reading scripture and praying multiple times a day.

As someone who cares deeply about my faith, I struggle to find ways to incorporate that into my everyday habits and patterns (especially in business). There aren’t many influential leaders who are outspoken on how they operate their business and glorify God at the same time. Navigating this is currently my largest roadblock.

Another struggle is balancing being a full-time student and spending more than full-time hours on Pioneer Digital.

As you know, we’re big fans of Pioneer Digital. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Pioneer Digital is a digital marketing agency for small businesses and start-ups. The website is https://pioneerdigital.marketing/

We create budget-friendly digital marketing strategies dependent on the goals and priorities set by our clients. We offer everything from SEO, Paid Ads, Branding, Websites, Listings Management, Google Business Profile Optimization/Management, AI integration, Analytics Tracking, Social Media Management, Influencer Marketing, and Digital Marketing Strategy.

Most digital marketing agencies waste time through onboarding, review meetings, and over-the-top research. We understand that our clients hired us to take time off their hands, so we prioritize results in the most time-efficient manner. We also believe in marketing made simple. Some agencies spend excessive amounts of time on over-the-top design schemes, marketing channels, and complex campaign strategies. In today’s world, people have decreasing attention spans and prefer to be influenced quickly. Our marketing makes in impact by being strategically simple.

The part of our brand that we are most proud of is the fact that our roots are planted in something much more complex and important than digital marketing. We believe in shining a light to others through servant leadership and good deeds. This broadens Pioneer Digital’s impact from the digital realm to a much wider and deeper level.

Our main goal is to help people and we want everyone to know that. Nothing makes us more excited than a client achieving their goals through a partnership with Pioneer Digital! We are motivated by making a massive impact, one client at a time.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
One of my personal core values is to “be weird.” Life is too short to be another fish in the sea. I enjoy finding hobbies and interests that stand out from other people. It makes for some incredible conversations and even competitions. For instance, I believe that I can beat just about anyone in moving an oreo cookie from their forehead to their mouth without using their hands. I also believe that I can make a better s’more than 99% of people who walk the earth.

I am also a heavy believer in growing through uncomfortability. It is difficult to push boundaries and grow while remaining in comfort. I am always searching for another way to get outside of my regular environment, try something new, and reflect on those moments. My most recent small challenge has been giving up warm showers. Cold showers have many benefits besides discipline, but I have seen so much personal growth since forcing myself to step outside of the box.

Cold showers push me to develop self-control and remain disciplined. I currently read ten pages of a non-fiction book and drink a water of gallon a day. This is a way for me to move forward every day (even if it is by extremely small amounts).
