Community Highlights: Meet Alexandra Dalman of Fenrir Group Private Investigations

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandra Dalman.

Hi Alexandra, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a 33 year old private investigator. Together with my husband Jon, I own Fenrir Group Private Investigations. I’ve been a private investigator since 2016.

I met my now husband at a martial arts class and we started working together as fugitive recovery agents(basically, bounty hunters.) We did fugitive recovery full time for almost 8 years! At a certain point, we got a little tired of the danger and liability, and at that point, we transitioned to private investigations.

Now, we are private investigators who specialize in finding people who don’t want to be found. Our bounty hunting skills translated really well to that. I wouldn’t say private investigations is safe, but but it’s definitely safer than bounty hunting!

We lived in Gainesville until 2022, when we relocated to Decatur, in order to grow our business in the Atlanta market. Now, we live in the Decatur/North Druid Hills area.

In 2023, I got into cycling and it’s become a huge part of my life. Our line of work can be intense. Cycling is an amazing way to decompress, stay healthy, and have something to think about that’s not work! I also love collecting watches and local art!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
So many challenges over the years!! Everything we’ve done, from fugitive recovery to private investigations, involves a lot of liability. You really have to earn the trust of your clients(attorneys, bail bond companies, etc.) It takes time(and success!) to build that trust up and build a client base.

Like many people, COVID also changed the course of our business. We were still going a lot of fugitive recovery at the time, and COVID changed the way a lot of jails handled bail bonds. Around the same time, we were pivoting to private investigations, and there was a lot more work and opportunity in that field.

Last of all, there have been some challenges for me, as a woman. These fields can be male dominated, and I’ve definitely encountered misogyny over the years. I usually go by “Alex” rather than “Alexandra.” Even now, when I speak with some clients on the phone for the first time, they’re surprised to hear my voice and find out that I’m a woman!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Fenrir Group Private Investigations?
At Fenrir Group, we specialize in a few different areas of investigations: locating people who are difficult to find, process service on people who are avoiding service, and background checks/social media research.

We also offer some bodyguard/private security services for situations like custody and property exchanges, or any time a client needs a neutral witness, or to feel a bit safer.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I grew up in the Northeast Georgia Mountains. My entire childhood, I was obsessed with detective stories(I read all 50+ original Nancy Drew books in one year!) No doubt that impacted my ultimate career choice!
