Community Highlights: Meet Amy McCabe of Heartfelt Senior Placement

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy McCabe.

Amy McCabe

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Amy is an Atlanta native who grew up in South Cobb County. She has been involved in healthcare recruiting for most of her professional career. After learning about senior placement when her father-in-law needed assistance, Amy became interested in senior care and how fulfilling it can be. She has jumped right in to help her community and hosts a monthly Parkinson’s Support Group, which is open to the public. Amy also volunteers with the ABA for the Brew Moon Festival, had a table at the Fit Life Expo, the Johns Creek Health Expo, and the K9 5k, among others! She has also sponsored multiple teams with Centennial High School and Chattahoochee High School.

As a part of the Greater North Fulton Community Chamber (GNFCC), Senior Resource Alliance of North Atlanta (SRANA), Alpharetta Business Association (ABA), Johns Creek Chamber, and Alpharetta and Roswell Business Builders (ARBB), Amy has a comprehensive network of reliable and friendly professionals who focus on senior care.

She loves what she does now and is passionate about helping families ensure their loved ones are safe and secure.

Amy enjoys the outdoors, cooking, and watching football. She lives in the Johns Creek/Roswell area with her husband. Her son attends the University of Alabama (Roll Tide), and her daughter is in 11th grade at Centennial High School. They also have 2 Boykin Spaniels and two cats.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Owning a business is never smooth, but what I do is so rewarding. I entered the industry with minimal knowledge and have learned a great deal from the amazing people in the industry. I am 2 years in, and still feel I learn something new every day! I love that I can help alleviate stress for my clients who are overwhelmed about finding the best fit for their loved ones. It is definitely not a “one size fits all” situation. Every single person I speak to has a unique story and has different needs. Anything that I can do to help them and make their decision easier is a win for everyone. As the saying goes – if you love what you do, you never work a day in your life – I am living this!

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Heartfelt Senior Placement, we offer a complimentary service for families seeking to place a loved one in an independent living, assisted living, memory care, or personal care facility. We strive to find the best fit for my clients. White-glove treatment is a significant part of what we do. I realize most companies say this, but we walk the walk. We have picked up a rented scooter for a client who needed to tour a community but couldn’t walk due to bad knees. We have taken on clients who can no longer drive. We go to pick them up and take them back home. These are just a few examples of what sets us apart.

Note that there is no regulation in the state of GA for senior placement. Always use a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA). Ask questions to ensure the Senior Advocate fits your and your loved one’s personality. This is a crucial decision, and you want them to have your best interests in mind.

I love to assist families with heart.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
What I provide is a complimentary service for the families I assist, and I get great enjoyment from the gratitude I receive from the families I have assisted. I am beyond fulfilled with what I do, and the fact that it brings happiness to others brings me even more joy.

On a personal note, I have started baking and cooking a lot. I am trying to encourage my family to eat more wholesome foods to stay healthier. I’m passionate about it, just as I am about my families!
