Today we’d like to introduce you to Andreahna Thornton.
Hi Andreahna, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m 25 years old and I’m from Newark, DE. Growing up I always said that I wanted to go to school to be a lawyer. Once I actually graduated in 2016 from Mount Pleasant High school, I went straight into college and it wasn’t for LAW. I was actually indecisive at the time, but as a year passed I realized I wanted to be my own boss & that’s exactly what I started doing! I started chasing my dream to become my own boss. One of my friends introduced me to paparazzi and I was selling paparazzi for a little bit which by the way is a great company! But then I thought about it and wanted to start making my own jewelry and that’s exactly what I did. I started off with making charm bracelets and selling ankle bracelets. I got so much support and that support is what made me keep going. Eventually, my business grew into an actual boutique which is now Lovely Charms Fashion Boutique. I went through a lot to get my business and clientele to where it needed to be but I did it. My mom Linda always told me to never give up on my dreams and I won’t! Moving to Atlanta was a part of my vision and now that I’m here I plan on to go full force and achieving everything that I want when it comes to all of my businesses! It’s time for me to build the lifestyle that I want.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, it took a lot to get to where I’m at today. My biggest struggle was losing my grandmother. She was my biggest cheerleader I felt like I didn’t get enough time with her. I blamed myself and others for so long after she passed. Fighting them silent battles with yourself aren’t no joke. I left a toxic relationship that I didn’t think I would ever come out of which was a struggle because mentally I was drained but I also had to realize my faults in that as well! But by the grace of god, I was able to overcome all of my hurt and trauma that I’ve went through in the past couple of years, and I had to realize the roles I played in A lot of them situations. Thankfully I got past that.
We’ve been impressed with Lovely Charms Fashion Boutique, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started my business in 2021 not knowing anything about a boutique. I honestly started off selling jewelry and then after I started getting so many sales from my jewelry, I added some clothing pieces and then purses. As my business grew, I started getting more vendors and better vendors. One thing I love about the clothing I sell is that the quality is great! I haven’t got a complaint from any of my customers and I think that’s what sets me aside from others. I go above and beyond for my business and customers. I make sure that I have the best quality clothes so they can keep coming back. I’m proud of how far I came with my business. I would have never thought I would have come this far. I’m extremely grateful and blessed. In 2023 we will be now adding plus size on to our website and I’m extremely excited!
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up I was always outgoing. I remember I used to get in trouble in school all the time for talking. I enjoy talking to people. I love making people laugh. I enjoy making people’s day! I had a very bright personality growing up. I enjoyed being outside and playing with my friends, going to my grandparent’s house and hanging out with them. I had an old soul at a young age. I enjoyed learning new things! I was smart. My parents/family taught me a lot at a young age. I knew I was going to be different.
