Community Highlights: Meet Aysha Abdullatif of Spherion Greater Atlanta Staffing and Recruiting

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aysha Abdullatif.

Hi Aysha, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My partner and I launched Spherion Greater Atlanta about two and a half years ago. As an Atlanta native with 15 years of experience in the staffing and recruiting industry, I recognized a gap in how job candidates were being introduced to employers and how those relationships were being built.

Before starting Spherion Greater Atlanta, I founded my marketing agency, ayeworld, where I primarily supported staffing companies with their communication needs. That experience gave me a unique national perspective on how recruiters were connecting with candidates — and how organizations were utilizing third-party staffing services. It ultimately inspired me to create something more personal, intentional, and community-driven here in Atlanta.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road of business ownership is never smooth, but I’ve embraced every “speed bump” along the way and genuinely enjoy that no two days ever look the same. I always say I’m in the business of people — and people aren’t perfect. Striving for perfection only leads to frustration, so I focus on progress and learning instead.

One of my ongoing “balances” (I prefer that word over “struggles”) has been communication. Spherion Greater Atlanta has built incredible client partnerships, but ensuring prompt communication between hiring managers and my team is a constant focus. My team and I understand both sides of the hiring and recruiting process, so we work daily to manage expectations and keep communication flowing smoothly.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Spherion Staffing and Recruiting holds a strong reputation across both the staffing and franchising industries nationally. Entrepreneur, Franchise Times, Franchise Business Review, and Forbes have all recognized Spherion, with Forbes most recently naming us one of the nation’s Best Temporary and Professional Staffing & Recruiting Firms for 2025.

Locally, the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce honored Spherion Greater Atlanta with the 2025 “Enlightened Employer” award this past August. We’re proud to be recognized as the premier staffing and recruitment firm in the Greater Atlanta region, known for our thorough candidate vetting, deep interview insights, and exceptional client service.

We serve a wide range of industries—from manufacturing, supply chain, and aerospace to technology, financial services, healthcare, education, and nonprofits. We support clients with temporary staff, permanent hires, and everything in between. Our candidate pipelines are updated daily, fueled by referrals from the community, current candidates, and our sister offices across Georgia, the Southeast, and nationwide from people relocating to Atlanta.

I’m incredibly proud of the workforce contributions our team has made, the quality of our behavioral and technical interviewing, and the community impact I’ve been fortunate to witness firsthand.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I’d say I fall somewhere in the middle — sometimes risk-averse, sometimes bold — but I’ve learned that growth doesn’t happen without a little risk. Launching Spherion Greater Atlanta was one of those moments where I had to lean into uncertainty. We were really building something, and that required trusting both the process and ourselves.

I’ve also lived in five cities across North America before returning home to Atlanta, which came with its own risks but taught me a lot about adaptability. I often ask myself, “What’s the worst that can happen?” and try to move forward from there.

In business and in life, you’ll never have all the information before making a decision — and that’s okay. Like I said, people aren’t perfect. What matters is taking thoughtful risks, learning from the outcomes, and continuing to grow.
